404 ERROR | Straight Outta the Box AW Customs HX 2201 Handgun 

AW Handguns are decent quality for the price. AW Guns are meant to be 'Uprated' straight out the box IPSC/Race Guns. I know a few people that have had the Disconnectors break after putting a few hundred BBs through them, but you can replace this with a steel upgrade thats meant for a TM Hi-Capa. The HX2201 has pre-drilled holes on the frame for a red dot sight to be installed, I don't think this gun has been short stroked as the guide rod does not appear to any type of aftermarket buffers installed. The Slide being split in half helps the shooter to keep front aperture straight and on target as the gun cycles, the shorter rear part of the slide will also help the guns gas efficiency, give the gun a quicker cycling for faster shooting and present less recoil than a Hi-Capa with full sized metal slide.

Jet, ditch the music or turn it down, it's too loud and with it being loud, it's also very annoying

Hx2202 (black version) long time owner here: the gun is a ton of fun but it does have some durability issues. The slide lock is not actually supposed to engage on a empty mag, that's design not a flaw. However, the lock does have issues holding after a year of use, and my front fake fiber optic actually exploded while shooting. Additionally, the ambidextrous safety can accidentally engage when your holding the gun because it's so sensitive. I replaced it with an aftermarket safety and it works fine now. The gun is somewhat fragile but with good maintenance it's a gun that shoots phenomenal with great accuracy out of the box. My only gripe on purchase was the safety so if you want a flashy gun that requires little upgrading this things pretty good.

most likely the occurrence of the not locking back is because of the short stroking on the gun. most likely installed during the competition.

I have 2 AW Custom pistol's and not had anything problems and both lock back when empty it was said to see you have a bad experience but that's life keep up the good work dude

Hey my brother has the exact pistol and it works great. We have had it over a year and his slide does lock back. Idk why yours didn’t but the magazine count is about 30 and you can get a 50 round extended mag

i run an AW hicpa the 2301 to be exact, upgraded with a 190mm inner barrel and a competitive bucking, shooting around 380fps with .28s. i can say its an amazingly reliable sidearm.

I have a HX2201 and the reason why mine could not lock back was because the Slide Lock worn out easily and also the notch the slide that was supposed to catch the Slide Lock worn out easily. Had to re-shaped the notch and also the edge of the Slide lock that was contacting the notch to get it to lock back again after the last BB was fired.

The lock back feature works on mine and it’s the exact same model. Probably wasn’t working for you due to the competition but it does indeed work properly when unused

Its a IPSC Gun, it may have been short stroked to increase cycle time, hence no lock back. Or it is a WE, it may jave worn out already, look a slide lock recess on slide to tell.

so no matter how long you hold the green gas in it will never explode?

This is my possibility my favourite looking gun I own

I use black gas, and I normally fill the mag with 3-4 sec. of gas and it works for my 51rnd.

The pistol looks sick and awesome,and sick Ghosts sights. Jett use a high cap mag for that gun.

you can fix the slide by filing the catch on the release, square off where it meets the slide

If you turn the hop up and then look through the barrel you will see what way turns the hop up or down.

This gun looks similar to the WE 5.1 Hi-capa Dragon from a few years back.

FYI IPSC action air guns do not have a functional slide lock simple due to the system being short stroked

for not cocking back, there is a ''non factory'' ring at the springguide, the silver and red one are stock, the black(rubber one) is not. this is out of the box probaly one of the best stock highcapa's and shoot outs most of pistols from factory.

I have a AW Costom hiCapa5.1 shoot 4 mags with CO2. After the 4th mag my slidechatch+ notch broke out. and yea it should lock back (did it the first 3 times) with CO2 u get ~0.7 joules more out of this gun as with green gas

How do you fix a leaky mag? I got one new and started leaking soon after, shop didn't want to address the issue.

I have a hx2002 and it has a heavier kick. And it locks on the rear when out if bbs. Maybe it's just for different pistols ?

Mine was probably a lemon but the sear spring detenced and the reset sear for the valve knocker/hammer broke 2 games after buying it so idk how i really feel about aw.

I've seen a lot of co2 pistols specially hard kicking ones that don't lock back when you shoot the last BB because they make the slide catch out of soft metal that rounds off and stops working after being released over and over probably partially from the Shooting comp

I want one jet looks nice but im still a fan of a full metal m1911 or a m9 model pistol i still dont have pistol so i haven't played any airsoft games yet including i dont have any other guns or gear yet

The slide my have been purposely short stroked for a faster rate of fire. Hard core speed softers will do this to there guns some times to get that small advantage

I got to do the shooting competition twice because the mag for that gun broke when i was shooting lol

I can say from experience that gbbs that have a slide that doesn’t lock back are the spawn of Satan, because if you don’t count your shots or you forget how many bbs you shot (which will happen to you all the time, you will end up firing blanks without realising and thus will waste gas, which is a huge pain in the arse and that is why a gbb pistol’s slide not locking back is a huge dealbreaker and almost as bad (but not as bad) as the gun not working at all
