Damn, that's still heaps unassisted man! Well done! I solo 275lbs and that's a struggle for me to hit 2 reps. I probably should start leaving the weight clips off incase this happens.... 😅
Good idea. Gyms are open where I live and since everyone wears headphones no one hears you if you’re struggling. Lol A guy had clips on his bar and was calling for help. He’s lucky someone was paying attention.
At least you know it was definitely a 1rm. Also, this gives me hope that little ol’ natty me can hit this one day. Edit: and by that i mean, dude, how do i get coached by you? I read somewhere you do this!
I consider a real press to be laying flat on the bench and bringing the bar all the way to chest and back up. This boomerang shit people do and only going about half way with the rep just screams cheat in my opinion. And, yes, I know the general consensus behind this method, but this is just my personal opinion.
@@JADNCK By taking a deep belly breath, (before you unrack), and using it to create intra-abdominal pressure allows you to maintain optimal tightness throughout the set. Once you exhale, you loose your initial positioning, and it's impossible to get as much air back into your body with weight in your hands. You should take advantage of this by holding your breathe for as long as you can, and when you do need to breath, take only short choppy breathes. Not deep exhales. It's called the valsalva manuver. It's very uncomfortable and painful at first, but it's been a game changer for me once I got used to it.
