Doug is hilarious in this. JP is being uncharacteristically cruel, but I remember an interview with Kieron Richardson when he said that one of Ste's issues with JP early on was that he acted like he was so much better than him when they were both from working class backgrounds. I think that comes across pretty well. I like the little bits of foreshadowing though. "I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole!" well then ;)
"Stop pinching him Ste!" Oh my, that made me laugh. Doug was hilarious in this episode and I'm a hardcore Stendan fan so thats gotta say something about PJ Brennans comedic chops.
Well. He just lost his kids because someone told Amy about him and Brendan. He got into a fight with his boyfriend because his boyfriend is a fighter and wants to battle Amy legally for the kids. When that fell through, Ste caught boyfriend with drugs in his club and feared that Amy was right to take the kids away. Now Boyfriend has decided to leave him alone for a while. I think, I THINK, we can cut Ste a little TEENSY bit of slack for being pissed off right now. Yeah?
actually ste didn't start it yesterday, he was annoyed. they never liked each other, he does have reason to be annoyed. JP is the one that riled him up and started picking at his intelligence.
I never thought I'd say this, but I'd kind of like to see more of Ste and JP together... For some reason, I've always liked the couples who start out hostile. They're the best ones!
Thanks. I appreciate your good motives. What I hate most about the little I saw is that JP is teaching his students that this is the way you treat people: If you're clever, you use it to humiliate others.
I wasn't expecting much from 4-minutes. That was entertaining, made my day. I love Ste's face when Doug broke him and John Paul up, he was taking it seriously, looked like he wanted to kill him...haha.
I thought John Paul and Craig were great together, then I watched Ste and Brendan, and reflecting back, JP and Craig were too young, too flat and their romance so easy. Some scenes were great tho; but I never felt any of the breath-taking attraction naturally ever present between Ste and BB. Yet, a grown-up, mature, taunting JP is quite enticing I must say. The first scene, with the long ironic gaze from JP to Ste, I thought: "yeah, he is definitely up for it"... I know that in 2014, they're suppose to have somethin' together, but I hope they won't do so too quickly, it might ruin all the fun. I like Ste and Johnn-Paul bickering and bitching around each other, it's part of the fun...
Just watched this again , they are setting us up for JP and Ste to be together, but I rather STUG abd JP with the principal, look at his eyes when Ste said "He started it" lmao
Calm down little fan boy, Ste did give him attitude the minute JP walked through the Deli... I know what I'm talking about and I did watch it...Now thank you.
Everyone is attacking John Paul for being "stuck up" and "mean to Ste." Remember, when John Paul first met and knew Ste, he was the sketchy guy who was beating Amy. We've all had years to watch Ste grow into a decent human being. Back in the day, we wouldn't have been bothered by John Paul's attitude towards him. I think we need to allow a little time for him to get to know the new and improved Ste, and then see how he is around him.
What I didn't like about today's episode is that John Paul is totally different from the person he was before he left Hollyoaks. He was kind, considerate, well-liked, compassionate, etc., etc.. Makes me wonder if the writers think he's a "new" character instead of one who has returned. Those who have watched this show for some time now realize that they're playing around with his personality. I really don't like what they're doing to his character...
I may be oversimplifying things, but, you know, "fool me once, shame on you". It's not like Ste didn't know who Brendan was when he decided to get back together with him. Notice how most of his problems are somehow related to Brendan.
Lol I don't know which one of them's the cutest. Ste for his jealousy/annoyed attitude, Doug for trying to be nice & keep calm at the same km time hilarious, or John Paul, simply bcus he's winding Ste up. Haha.
JP's not being a douche. Ste dislikes JP because JP had a one-nighter with Brendan after JP broke up with Craig and Ste broke up with Doug (but before Ste and Brendan got back together). I believe JP still dislikes Ste because Ste was responsible for almost getting JP's sister killed in a car accident. among other things.
I agree with some of you guys, don't forget it's Hollyoaks we're talking about , it means crazy things could happen anytime....so i wouldn't be surprised if JP secretly wants Ste not Doug.....that would be hot! :)))
The song TROUBLE by Taylor Swift was a perfect choice for this episode! Very appropriate and fitting! You go girls!! Get at it! That's what we love to watch! Good, exciting, dramatic and always wondering what's going to happen next, kinda television! I love it! All thanx to the wonderful @emmettscanlanfans for keeping up and posting for us to enjoy!
Ok, I understand that JP & Ste have a history and most of it's bad. But JP was in the wrong to taunt Ste and wind him up. Not only is John Paul a father now, he's a teacher. He's suppose to be the responsible & mature adult. Not a bully, you think he would know better considering what happen with Ester.
"To delight or giving pleasure" lol Dougs come back line of "That's what Carter and Hay's is all about!" oh Doug, how did you keep a straight face when you said that?
My heart was beating for Stendan but I prefer Ste & Doug billion times over Doug & John Paul. JP was always a bit of a whiner but with Craig it didn't matter, now he's just become so annoying. I used to love JP and hate Ste, back then never ever thought the day would come I'd be on Ste's side. It's almost like their roles have turned upside down, at the moment JP is just getting on my nerves. He shouldn't have come back and ruin everything.
i can recall fully but it was around the time he was scally and i think hitting amy as well, jp would kinda talk down to him like hes better and ste didn't like that since he is a mcqueen lol. doesn't seem like much has changed.
he didn't start things with jp, jp has been uncharacteristiclly messing with ste, ste just finished it. please watch the videos before commenting, thank u.
I think the show gives both stereotypical and more serious portrayals of gay people and the conflicts in their relationships. The conflicts between Brendan/Ste and Ste/Doug were and are not stereotypical. I think some light banter is good for a change.
am a girl thank you very much and your commnt is still null and void because ste was only reacting to the snide little comments and cheeky attitude that jp was giving him. especially tonight when he kicked the ball at ste's van i mean what is that? if ste ever did anything like that he'd be called an abusive bully.
@Churst! I was thinking the same way! I think John Paul has it for Ste and doen't really know how to express himself in that way, yet. We can all see that Dough, on the other hand, has it big time for John Paul. So yes, this could really get very interesting! I am loving Ste more and more with every episode!!
JP and Doug have serious potential to be cute as pie. JP was always a bit of an ass so it's not a character change. He just really gets off taunting Ste. I must say, I like snarky Ste. It works for him. Doug was amusing in this episode. His crush on JP is adorable.
Ok, is it just me or does it seem like the same actor who played John Paul is back, but he's playing a different character? Like, not John Paul anymore, someone else? Am I making any sense? I don't know, I loved John Paul back in the day, but he just seems like an A-Hole to me right now.
I'm still a Stug fan I just think that Ste is just a little immature, he's the one that started things with JP just because he slept with Brendan. And I dont know if I'm the only one that feels this but I want JP with the Principal.
umm what does that have to do with the present ste has more than paid for his mistakes what rite does john paul have to judge him? he doesn't want to know him the writers are developing this feud between them off of nothing really hopefully what ever issues that jp has with ste are resolved soon before it gets even more ridiculous.
@Churst, i read all your comments below and i think you and i are on the same page! I agree with u completely and actually feel the exaxt same way! Well put and i look forward to reading your futite comments! You are one my favoritw commentors!!! If that is a word! Lol
fair enough but he is being ignorant then that he even said it himself that he has changed since last time. to belittle him and been annoying him, that does come off as being mean. dont hate jp but he is being snobby. Ste has right to be annoyed but he didnt put anything into act, jp did.
Please remove your comment. It's not fair to people who want to participate, but don't want spoilers. There are other places you can discuss spoilers. When I read a comment, I see more than the first line, so the one word "spoiler" followed by the spoiler on the next line doesn't help.
that may be true but it isn't something he lingers on as a problem but in this case, he never liked JP anyways so he and bb sleeping together is annoying.
Oh okay the whole thing about JP sleeping with Brendan i know, the last thing about JP's sister help me, i was actually talking about way in the past, and thanks...
I love them but the love is not the cause of more heartbreak how many hearts will ste break John Paul and Doug are a match no matter what ste does his heart really wants brenden ste is a heartbreaker but Doug is more happier for John Paul McQueen so sorry it’s the honest truth
loving JP being a jackass, but Doug's line delivery today just wins everything! I must have watched this 10 times and lose it everytime Doug tries to cover for them fighting. "no more pinching!"
science of making a sandwich that was so low..jp thinks he is on top of the world after sleeping with steven's boyfriend and fancying steven's husband jp used to be nice guy but now he has become so shallow and self centered person
exactly! mark my words when doug and jp are at their relationship highest or lowest jp and ste will start a best friend and boyfriend developing feelings for each other storyline. i know that it's in the cards because jp loves a good scandal induced affair and he and ste have chemistry am sorry it may be a little too early to call but hollyoaks is also too predictable.although if they do decide to go that route i know that it will be good television.
Why do i sensed sexual tension between John Paul and Ste rather than John Paul with Doug?... Hmmmm................ Is it bcoz Emmet leaving the series?.... :(
