i love how Oberon is literally a nova canon but on tank treads its basically taking a canon from a battleship in modern day and putting it on a M1 Abrams body and using it to destroy a cardboard box its so over the top but fits so well in 40k

Thanks for reacting to this. This was such a fantastic story, it's one of the reasons I fell in love with Warhammer. You all were stronger than me I shed a few tears reacting to this lol.

The Templar Champions are a ceremonial rank there job is not to command troops but to go and fight enemy champions, officers or leaders in single combat a symbolic way to prove the templars are superior to there enemies which is why they are the best fighters given finest chapter weapons which are treated with holy reverence.

One 1 on 1 the imperial titans are significantly stronger than ork titans. But Stormherald has been fighting non-stop for days and was overheating. It could have still won if the plasma annihilator hit, that's an insane weapon. And Oberon is a miniaturized Nova Cannon on a hover platform - a weapon normally mounted on biggest starships that is a FLEET KILLER.

Armageddon's environment was trashed long before the war. The hellscape thing is seasonal.

So Andre probably wasn’t sexist. He, unlike everyone else, had a positive outlook on the future. He’s deployed to an outpost in the middle of nowhere, hey he’s not at Helsreach. Space marines arrive that only show up in the most dire circumstances, well now we’ve got space marines so things will turn out great. Even when he’s pretty sure he’s gonna die, he gives the ring and note to someone to someone who’s not gonna to be on the front lines because he believes it’s worth letting her know how he feels. He even gets pretty lucky. Survives the battle of Helsreach and promoted on the recommendation of a space marine. On paper for normal guardsmen that’s great, but he doesn’t seem particularly happy, because this is 40k.

Don't know if any of these guys read the comments, but here is my two cents. Armageddon is the name of the planet, Helsreach is the hive city the Black Templars were defending. Armageddon is an inhospitable world prior to any conflict so no, the planet has not been destroyed. It is a hive/industrial world, therefore valuable to the imperium because it produces basic military supplies to that region of space along with imperial guard regiments. Don't know about any Christ-like rebirth, but the story is about Grimaldus finding his own person in his newfound rank as opposed to being a shadow of his former mentor. At the same time dealing with the survivor's guilt of living when his master didn't. The black and white sketch stylization of the first parts is to underscore that guilt. At the end going back to that style because he once again feels that same survivor's guilt about his command squad dying while he remains. So while he does become a stronger person and better leader for his chapter, it is still tinged by that bitter victory that is 40k. As for Trooper Andrej, not really sure if it was just a joke, but the guy wasn't sexist. He just tried to bring levity to the shit existence he was dealt. As for the sword Primus was looking at and there Emperor's Champion. The sword as a relic of the chapter, that is to say both a powerful weapon and a religiously important item to the chapter and relic weapons cannot be replaced. Being allowed to wield such a thing is a great honor and responsibility.

Unfortunately Jurisian is dead, he fell getting Oberon to safety. Now, it was no orks blade or gun, but by the Machine Spirit of the weapon. His last words were "Engine, Kill"

You should also look into Guardsman 2018 also done by Richard Boylan.

The saddest part is the loos of the Titan. Sad but human life and even Astartes can be replaced, especially in 40k. But loss of a Titan is something that hurts the whole Imperium and it hits hard - it cannot be replaced and the loss is permanent, since there are very few of them.
