I never went through addiction or had family go through it either and even I wouldn’t be able to let my child stay on the street hell id camp out with them if I had to it would just be incredibly difficult to walk away and let him survive on the dangerous streets alone
The father is part of the mental abuse as reported by his son. So why is this ok.? Josias said that."CPS has many cases of abuse on him and that why he was removed in the first place. Stop making this about the fathers ego.
This hurts to watch because I've been exactly where James is! It was even harder on me, as a mother, going thru this! James looks and is TIRED!! Many times I thought I would have a stroke behind me trying to help! Nobody......NOBODY... wants to bury their child!!! I buried a step-son, exactly 3 weeks before his 20th birthday, due to being shot in the head. I COULD NOT go thru that again! The mental strain on a parent is Hell! James...I pray that you find Peace within, and I pray that Josias gets the help he needs b4 its too late!!!

I had a friend Louis Mandel his dad owned The Tinderbox at Lenox Mall.Sadly His dad fought like this.Louis had a family a dad money a home to go to .Louis decided being on the streets in downtown Atlanta is what he wanted.Finally his dad had to let him go and Let him be Louis dad Al Mandel died of a heart attack.We all say from a broken heart.Louis got shot in the neck years later at a crack house by Atlanta motel.he survived and then couple years later died from complications of what crack smoking did to his body.I wrote this because what im seeing is exactly what i remember. I hope Joesais reads this because this will be his story.Please let your dad help .its a very true story i tell

His father may have made some mistakes in the past when it comes to Josius's upbringing BUT one thing that I will say is I take my hat off to this man for not giving up on his son! He drove 9 hours just to take him home and even made room for Batman. Josius's love comes from the streets because he chooses not to leave the streets alone. He feels safer out there than with his father. It's going to take a lot of prayers, healing, and counseling to reall, get things moving on both ends. I'm sure his mom made mistakes in her life, too, but Josius is blessed to have a father that loves him to follow him everywhere! My so called "dad" WOULD NEVER!

Young man, love hurts, but it's okay. Your father means more to you then you know it. Those streets don't love you and most of the people out there would trade places with you so that they could have a father that genuinely loves and care about them. i watched this whole series and didn’t cry until the very end when you showed james’ facebook live. man i can only imagine. i’d do anything to hear my mom sincerely apologize for anything and she’s still on this earth. i so hope that josiah realizes how loved he truly is. this whole “crackhead with a heart problem” act he’s putting on is driving me crazy. i know about addiction from a first hand perspective so i can clearly see that josiah is addicted to the freedom of the streets as well as the drugs. he hasn’t hit his rock bottom yet. he’s 5000% anti-authority. i would have probably had him involuntarily committed if i were able as he’s truly a danger to himself. i pray that something sticks because i have a bad feeling that if not, he won’t be with us much longer. 💔stay strong james! you’re fighting the fight. we see you.🫶🏾
Watching this is making my nerves bad. Josia is really putting on for the camera. He loves the attention from that I believe because he didn’t get the attention he wanted/needed as a kid. Kudos to Dad for trying to right whatever wrong he did. Hopefully Josia get the help he needs to overcome his trauma and drug addiction. Dad don’t give up on him.

As a mother of 4 boys my oldest is an addict I by myself walked up in a trap house over mine but at some point you have to walk away and let him be either he will eventually get tired of that life and the drugs or he won't he has set his own path as much as it hurts to see your child like that all you can do is love them from afar and be there when they are ready and pray everyday for them my son has the heart of a 60 yr old at 24 because of his choices i am blessed he has started healing his own past traumas and is working on himself walking away does not equil giving up on them stay strong and stand firm in God sending prayers

This is a classic case of rebellion. Not saying his childhood was perfect but I don't think it was as bad as he puts on. He's clearly playing a game with this father and whatever pain he's holding onto...he want his dad to feel the same. His dad had structured discipline, Josias calls it abuse. There's a thin line between the both and it depends on ones perspective. There are people who actually prefer the streets. I worked for a housing authority and volunteered at a homeless shelter... I'm speaking the truth. At this point....dad if you're listening...you have to make peace and let it go. You have too, for your own sanity. He seems to be out of hand and hard to control. I can only imagine what those teenage years were like. Kids tend to act out when they have a disability, add abandonment issues with that...smh. I'm not sure if they had him on meds. But him switching back and forth between acting roles says otherwise. The acting like he's so upset, the something's wrong with him act, the bringing up medical "I may die" for sympathy, the every now and again outburst of anger typically brought on either by him seeing someone looking or someone on the phone is suspect. That 24 hour run around...he low key was absolutely happy his dad was there and if his dad chose to live on the streets with him... he'd welcome it. In my opinion, Josiah does not want help, and nothing his family can do. They have tried and he still refuses help. Im my opinion, it’s all on him, he has to want it & he don’t. He is content being on the streets. Let it be. I wish nothing but the best for him but he has chosen this lifestyle. I usually never comment on videos but I must say that we all have made mistakes in life and parenting did not come with a handbook. When we know better, we do better. I am more than sure this is frustrating for Josias’ dad. I would go home and let Josias be until he asks me for help. I’d Pray for his safety and healing. You can only do so much with a mentally ill, abusive, disrespectful, violent, drug addict, even your family. I could not sleep around him, he could literally kill his father or kill him from too much stress. He needs to be in a mental health facility that also treats drug addicts, because he is on the SHORT train ride to prison or death.

Josiah has deep childhood trauma, mental health issues and substance abuse. That's a triple threat to this young man and it will take some deep Psychotherapy and Drug rehabilitation for him to overcome some things but he will forever have issues that he will have to continue to work on. I’m done with Josias. At this point, coming from someone who has observed the many scenarios from the beginning…Josias on a bike just hanging around on the streets, clean, fresh faced and just 19 years old. Fast forward to present day he’s now showing off. He likes the attention his being on the street gives. He lies about everything. Only Marcus could deal with him. He makes up outlandish stories and then puts on a show to garner sympathy. Marcus has caught him in many lies. He speaks badly about both his parents. His problem is DISCIPLINE and adherence to rules. I’ve seen his dad come all the way from where he lives with his cousin, took him and Emily and here he is again. Josias’s biggest goal is to live on the street with no rules. He’s disrespectful and out of control at this point. I’ve watched every video since Marcus encountered him. He calls out to women, runs up to them and acts like he’s about that life. I said many months ago that Josias will not change unless he wants to…guess what…he doesn’t want to. Good luck to his dad and the best stranger he’ll ever meet in his life MARCUS. One thing though…Marcus I would advise you to stop recording him and see which version of Jasias you’ll get. Somethings are the way the are for a reason. You win some and you lose some🤷🏽♀️

On an episode of 60 days in a few weeks ago, they moved an opiate addict into the call with 1 of the participants. She proudly spoke about her addiction, her relationship with fentanyl and acknowledged she can’t make space for rehab or valuable bonds because the drug is her primary focus. Most addicts know it and won’t admit it. If they openly spoke about their love for their drug and express how much they possibly enjoy the relationship they have with their drugs itd help a lot of people understand where their priorities lie and how low on the todum pole their loved 1s actually are. Even with all this effort, I don’t see anything in this scenario that benefits Josia enough to up and leave a life he loves and the people he enjoys using with. Not to relocate to a place with strict rules and push back, his father is a very “I’m right and I’ll prove it” type of personality. They’re stuck in a cycle of tit for tat and his father although loves him, has not accepted Josia as a man and still treats him like a child. His only identity as a man has been surrounded by drug use and independence.

If you really want to help this young man get him off the camera and get him some real help. He's obviously addicted to social media which doesn't help the situation at all.
Josias may not be mentally capable of feeling regret. He knows the right actions to take if he sees someone in pain, but I don't think he truly feels empathy. He is incredibly self-absorbed, and he has probably always been that was. He lies with no concious, and he always makes himself the victim. He really needs to be institutionalized for his own well-being.

What did he do to his mom ? His mom actually needs to stay out of his life because she's the reason this even happened. His mom took him to Atlanta then left him there while she move elsewhere. @@kenyaparis7892 The person is saying he's afraid to get clean because he's scared of withdrawal. He smokes crack. His body is addicted to crack and when the high starts to ware off his body will crave the high again and unless he gets high again within a certain time his body will go into withdrawal. Withdrawal can make you nausea, vomit, trembles , make you shake uncontrollably etc. A lot of drug addicts have a harder time getting clean because the withdrawal is so bad some can even d*e from withdrawal which is why it's important to get clean at a rehab facility with medical staff.

Along with his immaturity, mental and emotional problems Josias has a full blown CRACK ADDICTION. All at 20 years old. I applaud this father for admitting his faults and trying to help his son out. I just pray his father understands the childhood hurt. Awesome dad for returning to right a wrong and showing his son he is willing to try. The media needs to show Black Fathers in this light vs. the negative stuff portrayed in the media. 🥰

There comes a time where parents have to let go and let God…this is the stage at life where the parents prayer life must increase and faith needs to be activated. God knows how to bring people to their knees where they will have no other choice but to cry out to Him. Life will teach Josias.

@@andrewwilliams5487 Rock bottom is when smoking crack and running the streets is no longer fun and he's no longer "cute" ....when his health is affected, he has legal penalties which gives him no other option but to get help....such as MANDATORY drug and alcohol counseling or being put in jail for no compliance. He hasn't reached ROCK BOTTOM, yet. He has too many people willing to cushion him, that's not ROCK BOTTOM.... The interviewer eventually has to STOP imterviewing him as well. It has to get RAW and uncomfortable.
It’s a blessing to have a dad that care I lost my dad last year we was just starting to develop a amazing relationship because when I was young he wasn’t there so it left me to join a gang and start going to jail at a young age !!!
Im sorry I've been watching this kid for months now and I'm so freaking irritated with him. He is doing this for attention if it wasn't for the camera it would be so different. Watching this broke my heart😞As a mother of two sons, I couldn't imagine going through this. However, I would go to the moon and back for my sons. I salute his father, hang in there and many Prayers!!!
James you are a great example of a father not giving up and loving his child unconditionally. I wished there was something I could do for you both. My family dealt with substance abuse as well. Think about using the videos to get him demeed a danger to self for legal guardianship. Even if it's temporary to get him into a locked rehab. I wish the best for you guys❤

I feel sorry for that. He has a fight to try to make his son well. Daddy did all that he could do. You can not force a person to do right. He has to want help. I know someone that has the same problem with his son. The son came home and stole everything in the house to get drugs. A crackhead should be in a hospital, not at home.

This was James 2nd, 9 hr drive to ATL, he was there several months ago also. I believe Josias dad, is willing to do whatever is takes, for his son. Josias is very manipulative, a character flaw. 😔

What about the poor dog? This is straight up emotional blackmail. Props to dad for trying. I have been following this for a bit and I keep seeing the same behavior every single time Josia is approached with anything uncomfortable he is suddenly sick.
This entire series was so hard to watch. I pray that Marcus is not the one that finds Josias one day in a way he never thought he would, as that memory will be etched into his brain forever. Josias just doesn't want to get too far away from Marcus at this point because Marcus is a best friend and big brother to Josias. As hard as Josias tries to be, he really does have a soft spot when it comes to his relationship with Marcus. Anyone with eyes can see that Josias does in fact care about how Marcus views him. Let's just admit that those two have an unbreakable bond, like it or not
