Not everyone wants do a zero - 60 run at every stop light, Heck most people don't care about quarter mile etc... If one has the money to get a maserati and if thats what they want then please ! Go for it ! It is a good vehicle by itself. We need to stop comparing and start appreciating the cars for what they actually are and what purpose they were built for. Maserati is class, style, swag and the exhaust note and trust me they nailed it. Obviously there is always room for improvement and I bet they will improve on it soon. Yes I agree that it is priced quite high but hey ! its like buying gucci shoe over a nike !. The nike might be better performing shoe but it won't make you feel special the way a slightly uncomfortable gucci shoe would. Maserati is for someone who has made money and does not give a shit about performance driving. Maserati is like a PEACOCK ... not the best at flying but them feathers on a peacock are goddamn beautiful and the sound a peacock makes is beautiful and unique !! Just like MASERATI's the cars look good and make a beautiful sound. Just my opinion...

I get that this car is not worth anywhere near $90 grand, but you can get a 2018 S Q4 like this one with 15k miles for $43 grand. At that price I think this is actually a pretty decent deal. Ferrari engine, ZF transmission, Maserati badge if you care about that. Maintenance will be expensive but if you have a guy you trust and avoid the stealership you’ll be fine.

Your "out take" at the end reveals your desire to pan this vehicle as much as possible - can't argue about the price being too high for this vehicle - but while a Kia Stinger may accelerate as well - you are also paying for fit and finish in a car - I know the infortainment system screen is same as a Dodge - Your closing suggestion should have been - buying this car new is a mistake as it is one of greatest depreciating vehicles sold... but buying one that is three years old - after the steepnes of the depreciation curve levels off - that would be a good buy

I just rented one last week and I loved it. Yes, the materials are shit, yes it's not quality, and yes, it is overpriced. But I found the seats to be comfortable, it sounds magnificent and no it's not a slow car. Considering that there are not too many of these on the road (probably because they are in the shop) and you're always going to get looks and have something to talk about...it's a candidate.

How you do feel, as a person, knowing you lied to everyone reviewing a base $70k car but telling it's a $93k car? I'm sure you feel like "a massive pile of crap". The mysterious $93k car you're talking about actually comes with real leather (finer than what you find anything this side of a Bentley), carbon fiber, Alcantara, leather shifter, and you actually have the option of getting sport bucket seats if you want that. Also, FYI, those switches come from Mercedes (that's where Chrysler got them too) and quality-wise they're light years ahead of the Dodge counterparts (better materials, metal inserts, LED lighting).

The lack of facts that this reviewer has is solely derived at the lack of effort that he and his producers have committed to learning the facts of this car and most likely any vehicle that they choose to review. #1, To all f the viewers out there, component and platform sharing is a very common exercise that most and virtually all major automobile manufacturers do, It's main purpose is to reduce production costs. They try to hide the fact that they all do it but it's impossible not to find many shared components. To deeply criticize the Ghibli to use what is universally considered the best infotainment system the world has ever seen is just plain ignorant on the reviewers part. Consumers Report along with most major automotive magazines recognize that the Panasonic made Fiat Chrysler 8.4" Infotainment system has been the class leader in the business on many areas. Utility, function, speed, simplicity, connectivity, flexibility, graphics and personalization of the system over the past 10 years have earned the respect of any journalist or customer who lives with these devices every day. For sure there are more gimmicky systems that may show earth shots from space on the GPS screen or they may have something quite a bit larger in size but nothing comes close to matching the complete package offered on the Panasonic designed and engineered Fiat Chrysler systems. #2, Proof to me that this reviewer nows nearly nothing about car manufacturing is that when he is criticizing the few components that are shared with lesser vehicles is that he didn't even offer his audience a comparison against the most notorious component sharing company on the planet. Volkswagen group (VW, Audi, Porsche, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini). Underneath every Porsche Cayenne is an Audi Q7 and VW Touareg including may components inside, powertrain, suspensions and electronics. We have had some Lamborghini Gallardo's come in on trade in a few years ago with the complete screens and switchgears from a VW Golf. That is a 15k car sharing key items with a 200k car? #3, The numbers. It's not always the numbers. I owned a Kia franchise and they make wonder vehicles. The Stinger is there best to date after the new Telluride SUV. On acceleration he is bang on.But when you drive the Stinger hard for a while the car packs it in. The brakes fade badley. The car understeers horribly. The the materials inside do not compare. Why not compare the Ghibli's performance numbers to a Ford Focus RS. The Focus is probable faster but is it a valid comparison? Not at all. #4, Have any of you priced out the newest and most likely the truest competitor the the Ghibli, the 2020 BMW 840i X-Drive Grandcoupe. I just configured equally equipped 2020 Maserati Ghibli GrandSport S Q4 with a 2020 BMW 840i X-Drive Grandcoupe. The BMW was 12k USA more. I now work for a very large automotive group in the GTA and on the same parking lot we own a Maserati and BMW Franchise. Both sales teams parked them side by side for comparison. Performance they are nearly equal. Paint and body finish is close with the edge given to Maserati. Inside material grade the Maserati is far superior. The premium leather upgrades available on both vehicles are unmatched. The leather and trims are far superior on the Maserati. Plus there are much more leather coverage in the Maserati. The poorly rated BMW I-Drive is the most convoluted and distracting vehicle operating system on the planet. It's sole purpose is to completely divert your attention from the important task of actually driving your car. #5, What the reviewer had failed to tell his subscribers is that he had a 3 year old 2018 model Maserati Ghibli with the older, designed and built, transmission shifter from ZF. He doesn't even have the clout or the resources to get the most current model offerings from the manufacturer. #6, The car that he was driving was not a fully spec's car, Rather is had the standard extended leather feature. For just a couple of thousand dollars more you can get the Maserati Luxury Leather upgrade providing you with the finest Italian hides covering the interior wall to wall. It's about time to have more people speak up about these amature wanna be automotive journalist and hold them accountable for uninformed and unprofessional reviews on cars, trucks, appliances, computers or anything else. For all car buyers out their, my professional advice is simple, make an appointment to physically get off of your lazy asses and go to the dealerships and actually request a lengthy quality test drive. Both in town and on the highway. 20 minutes should be the minimum. That is where you will know if you have chosen the vehicle that is right for you. A Maserati is not a mainstream product, nor do they want to be. They are a very limited production, niche based product. A Maserati is your entry point into the world of exotic type vehicles. To a lesser point in comparison with Bentley, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, etc. With a much more higher level of reliability and resale value than any of those brands. Sit, touch and feel the inside of your Maserati and you will recognize exactly what I am telling you. Again it's not for everyone, we'll assume that you will either love it or hate it. Hence the slogan for our brand, "Maserati, the absolute opposite of ordinary". And our 12,000 plus customer database is just fine with that. Clowns like this reviewer only provide a bias disservice to anyone with an open mind to explore the wonderful world of the ever evolving car industry. No matter what type or price class of vehicle that you are shopping just make sure that you invest quality time researching established/credible automotive publications and on-line magazines before venturing out to the car lots. Then make sure you ask many questions then when you choose the top 2 or 3 vehicles that interest you then take them all out for a quality test drive before making your final decision. I believe that doing your due diligence as a consumer will get you the right vehicle with the minimum amount of the traditional buyers remorse. Cheers.

I just got a 2015 sq4 and I absolutely love it, it suits all my needs and got it for $29k with 72k miles, now I don’t think they’re worth 90 grand though

Kia is actually closer to 400+hp (350 at the wheels for the rwd stock) at the engine so not surprising that it can best or hang with this in the top end. They underrated their power like the German three do.

Love my tuned sq4. No one buys a Maserati or an Italian car that is seeking reliability that's for sure. With that being said mine has actually been very reliable. I don't miss any of the tech either. I'd buy a tesla is tech was my thing.

Found a 2014 for 30k; Ghibli SQ4 with a high gloss trim, all leather/carbon fiber interior, red calipers, blacked out rims with 49k miles. Looks Amazing. Definitely seems worth 30k to me?

I enjoy my Maserati Ghibli no I wasn’t dumb enough to pay 93 thousand dollars for it but I wouldn’t pay that for any car 🙄 understand just because it’s a Maserati doesn’t mean you can drive the car like it’s a formula 1 🏎 in reality it’s a sedan with a nice kick

If you want to be taken seriously, don't just shit on the car, but try and figure out and present as to why the experience is such. Quick google search shows that Ghibli came out in 2013 with Stinger being released in 2017. So it's no wonder that the Kia is matching it's performance numbers. Since Fiat is a parent company to both Crysler and Masetari, they both share parts, that practice is common.

Why would you even pay 30k for it?

What's the problem with a Dodge infotainment system in a Maserati if the Sat Nav works well and it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? If it works well, it works well. The infotainment system is a marked improvement over the original one. It's responsive and logically laid out. It has the BMW iDrive-style rotary controller and shortcut buttons that make the system quick and easy to navigate on the move. I've encountered systems WAY, WAY WORSE including on my dad's 2018 Jag XF. You're nitpicking with regards to sharing infotainment technology applies to many other performance marques too. What about the new DB11, DBS and DBX that come with an old Mercedes infotainment system that doesn't even have Android Auto or Apple Carplay? The Nav and infotainment is definitely worse in those cars. Or how about even infotainment systems in other high performance cars that share technology with lower models/marques that are pretty mediocre? Nissan GT-R, most Ferrari's for example etc. I can understand your criticisms with regards to interior quality on the Ghibli, it should be better. No arguments there. However, your performance criticisms are nonsense. If a car has 424 hp and weighs the best part of 1.9 tonnes, it's not going to be a rocketship. It'll be a fast car but nothing more. The 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile times are exactly what you'd expect from a car that weighs that much and has that level of power. Do I think the Ghibli is a great car? Probably not. Is this review unfair towards the Ghibli? Yes.

That's pretty low when you get mentioned in the same sentence as a Dodge product. As a Lexus owners I love when they compare my vehicle to a Toyota. At least Toyota makes great vehicles that last.

I have a 2003 Acura CL Type S with headers and a cold air intake, giving it about 300hp and 250 foot pounds. Saw one of these earlier today, a 2019, and I was able to almost keep up with it. Should NOT be happening considering the HP and torque differences.. Compare used prices, you can get an older, like 2016, for $30k-ish, and hope it doesn't break down. My car cost $3,200 and has required no serious maintenance in the year I've owned it. Just saying.

Well, all jealous people spit on things they can’t have. I had many Italian cars, mostly Alfas and all were great. No big issues, especially if compared to the driven kilometers. Each had more than 250K and I sold them in good condition. I had Maserati 3200 for a short period of time and it was amazing car as well. So, I’m used to hear such like comments and I can only say - shame on you!

Salty buyers I see in comments. Look this car is overpriced new. Buy it used. They borrowed so much from Chrysler/Dodge to make this car if you never had been in a Dodge/Chrysler you wouldn’t know that your luxury car has the same buttons as a 2011 police car.

Tbh the car is nice as i own one but the only complain that i have of this car is the repair costs its just too expensive for this car but rest all i love it eveey car is different and beutiful in its own way so Just my opinion

I don't think anyone would argue that Maserati is a good new car value, but frankly seem to be one of the best used car values out there. Get it after 3 years of depreciation for a little over $30k, have an awesome time. Granted, service/maintenance costs will be higher, but you wouldn't even be looking at the car if you weren't willing to pay for that. It's intended to be a spirited car, for people who dont show off their party trick infotainment systems

Ok, so you would pay 30 grand for a 430 HP all wheel drive Italian car. I can see you know your stuff.

Get this guy in a Kia or a Hyundai. He would be a good reviewer of daily driver value cars. He do not understand or appreciate the unique characteristics of European performance sport cars. These are weekend cars that are made for people who drive their Toyotas to work. They are not concern about any of the issues he addressed. They simple write a check to correct it if need be and not worry about how much the repair cost.

"This stuff that looks like leather is not leather." : Maserati offers one of the most exclusive and refined Italian leather interiors. The version of Ghibli you are driving is not equipped with that, so it's normal that what is not leather doesn't look like leather.
