Our well has run completely dry and we are desperate to get water to the yurt. After 10 days of living without water, our plumber Mickey gets our new 1200 gallon Spring Box hooked up and water flowing to our home. One more challenge on the Ranch fixed and on to the next project...getting the Log Cabin built!

So sorry to hear about your well. Lumnah Acres had done this same system on their new property with great success.

5,760 gallons/day is plenty enough to fill your pond, irrigate your garden, water your livestock, fight fires and have a swimming pool without ever needing a pump or paying electric bills (not to mention the cost of running the electrical wiring and box). HYDRAULIC RAMS are an incredible invention that is about as close to free energy as we can get. It looks like your land is well suited for this and I suspect that the spring is more of a seep and you have a spring up the hill a bit. Test your water and get to know some old timers in your area. Budget your money, stick to your dreams, and don't be impatient Homesteading is a process, and teaches us as we go along. Looks like you bought a beautiful place there.

Not sure where you live but, is this deep enough so it will not freeze in the winter? Assuming you live in a colder climate. I am planning doing the same when I build my off grid cabin, I have a spring right behind the spot I plan on building

Hello, Years ago my father had a well dug next to our pond. When the pond got low we turn on the well.... It looks. Like a small or large damn could be easily placed in that gully behind the we'll head. A dozer could build a.damn quickly. Just a thought..

Hey there! We thought about adding a pond at the base of the hill there by damning up the area you are talking about. We decided against it because of the pasture above and the water in the pond getting polluted. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Your channel was on my home page today so i started to watch. I saw a couple of early ones and i like what i see. My wife and i bought a cabin and 16 acres in n.e. Tennessee 4 1/2 years ago as a weekend summer retirement retreat. We spent 7 months there this year. The rest of the time we are in Florida which is our home. We love the Appalachian lifestyle. The people are incredible. The exposure to nature is exceptional and the ability to commune with ones spiritual side is without compromise. Knowing you are surrounded by people with your values is reassuring. Keep up the videos. I like your tractor. I have a blue one too, a little smaller than yours, but is is right for my needs!

Hi Norm! We are so glad you are enjoying the videos 👏🏻! The area of Tennessee you have a cabin is is gorgeous…not too far from our land! We feel the same as you about the beauty in nature and connecting with likeminded people in the area. We have no doubt that our decision to leave the city and move to God’s country was the best one for all of us!

You dug down 850 ft, fracked, and installed purifier, all before you explored an available spring source on your property??? Boy you must really like that pond.

Wells are *supposed* to be more reliable and cleaner. People generally want a well. Springs usually dry up a lot more than a good well during droughts. But springs have and will continue to supply millions of people including me. When our well started failing all that was left was the springs.

With as difficult of a ditch that is. I can’t believe a professional used black poly pipe. That will be an issue later.

Looks fantastic. What’s an approximate cost to do a spring well? Is it cheaper than a well? I have Landon Kentucky and can hear water running underground in a little tunnel and I am thinking about doing this verses a well.

Those pups are our pride and joy. They bring so much fun and love into our lives. It is a bummer about the well, but we are praying that we can salvage something, especially for when we get the animals & need to water them.

With a spring like this I use pool chlorine to shock the whole system every season when I start hours up at the cabin. I just dump it right into the spring and let the tank fill before I start the whole system up for the year and then flush the coordinated water through the entire system and it has worked perfectly every year. You can probably just check a little bit of pool chlorine inside the Spring box every year marked on the calendar in your phone as a reminder just to sanitize the whole system and when you're doing that to have good looking side the spring box and that'll probably be the only thing you Will ever really have to do

Old country boy on a spring. You should run your power cable in conduit. Use only skd 80 water line , skd 40 is prone to rock punctures.

Thanks for your honesty! A 800’ borehole tells me there is part of this story not being told? There are winners in this debacle and it’s my guess they drill dry holes for money? Great content and thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas from Bluff Country Iowa! FYI I have been in the well business for 65 years!

Hi Clayton! They stopped drilling at 500 ft and we asked them to keep going…our mistake! We thought for certain we would hit water since there were springs all around us. Live and learn 😬

@@freedomranchhomestead7961 Thanks for the response! One thing I will say is drillers know the area, and with water coming to the surface means something to anyone in well drilling business. Honesty in today’s world is rare. One bit of advice be certain to test your water at the tap and do so routinely, and perhaps you already know that.. Anyway thanks and good luck. I truly enjoy your videos especially when your from Wi and Scandinavian too boot!

hi sorry for the delayed response. For the spring box holding tank pump, it is just a standard pump (1/2 horse) I believe. It has provides plenty of pressure. I can verify if interested.
