I am embarking on a 400 day Contiki marathon that will span 6 continents, 50 countries, 200 cities, and 20 different Contiki tours back-to-back. During my travels, I'll be uploading weekly vlogs that will showcase the people, places, food, and activities that I encounter throughout the journey along with full reviews about each specific tour. This is such sad news, but you're right that you did have the trip of a lifetime. And someday in the future, you'll be able to travel again, even if it's not with Contiki. Your love for the company (and travel) really came through in this series, and you did the Contiki era of your life proud. When you're settled back in Canada, I'd love to know what your last trips would have been so we can see how you would have closed out your Odyssey had all gone as intended. Hope you're staying safe and well!

Hey Corey - Totally sympathise with you. I, along with another tour mate, finished our Explorer/Adventurer on Mar 17th and were set to join you and the gang in Medellin on March 19th. Obviously, this never happened and I'm incredibly bummed for you in that you didn't get to cap off the whole 400 days, or that turns out I had a chance to meet you that was yanked out from under both of us. Lots of love brother. Hopefully, Contiki can make an exception for a one-time 36-year-old on a special mission in 2021!

@@CVDL Indeed it was a shame but what can you do? My tour guide was actually Frank (you had him in Peru) and unfortunately he got locked out of his home country for a week as Peru shut their borders entirely on the 15th and he had to guide us till the 17th in Rio. He only got back into his proper home (after multiple quarantines) just outside Cusco last week. My Explorer was mostly great but I certainly has easily the most troublesome of my four Contiki's but this was mostly due to outside forces.. Delayed flights missing connections, lost bags, rolling ankles, food poisoning - all within five days. Thankfully the Amazon and Argentina more than made up for it!

Thanks Karl! I thought the rain was pretty fitting too! I was planning on filming my final goodbye from the airport - but when I saw it was raining during the final minutes - I knew I had to capture those final moments, no matter what it might do to my camera! Haha.

Thanks Ben! Hahaha, I need to track down that Uber driver and search his car! The bracelet fell off in his vehicle and I couldn't find it, as I was hoping I could fix it myself. Who knew that bracelet breaking would soon change the world as we know it... :)

So sad 💔 it's crazy how things took such a turn. I never expected the Contiki Odyssey to end this way ☹ but this is not the end - there will come a time when we all will be able to travel again. Still looking forward to your next video and would love to know what trips you had planned and how you would have officially ended the Contiki Odyssey.

Thanks for being such a loyal fan! Hopefully we both can get back out there as soon as possible and see more of the world. I never expected the Odyssey to end this way either, but I can be satisfied in knowing that I still got to travel for 300 days on the trip of a lifetime! I still have more videos to do, and I will detail what my plan was for the rest of the 400 days. I'm still hoping I can do some of the things I had planned, but just maybe not this year!

@@CVDL your videos are so awesome - I'm really going to miss watching them. According to the news, Scientists at Oxford University are developing a vaccine for Covid-19 and i read articles where they said that a vaccine could be ready by August-September this year and trials are starting tomorrow so hopefully everything is successful and things can go back to normal and we can travel again :) it would also be nice to go back to normality I really do hope that you are able to complete your goal with travelling and the videos :)

Thank you! I'm going to keep hoping that things resolve fairly quickly, but I imagine there will still be lots of restriction on travel for the foreseeable future as no country wants to open up their borders and have a flood of new cases. Either way, I would love to find a way to keep traveling and making videos for people in the future... even if I can't do Contiki, there's plenty of other options out there! :)

I knew it would come to an end eventually, I just didn't know it was going to be 100 days short of the goal... I guess I'm just glad it didn't come to an end after Christmas, as some of my most amazing memories were made in these last few months!
