435 Husqvarna Chainsaw Unboxing and Review. We bought a 40CC 16 inch blade chainsaw made by Husqvarna. It sure lives up to the hype! It's one of the most recommended chainsaws that professional tree cutters use. In this video I unbox the new chainsaw and give it a test run. Overall, the saw is good! I have no complaints yet.

I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and with the new chain, I can't complain! We took down a gigantic 3-stem cottonwood in our backyard and this saw sure helps for cutting it up into pieces! Sure it's only a 16" blade but with a good chain that's no problem. Cuts through wood like nobody's business! Bigger pieces just need to be cut from both sides. Overall, I am very satisfied! I am glad I listened to the guys that recommended Husqvarna! Oh and another reason why my stock chain got dull so quick is because I ran out of chain lubricant oil and kept sawing a couple times before noticing. I am not sure if all chainsaws go through chain and bar lubricant this fast but this chainsaw does. Pretty much every time it is out of gas it will be out of oil as well.
@murderinc.hunting7686
@murderinc.hunting7686 6 лет назад
Word of Advice TV it's called a "bar" not a blade, hence the bar and chain lubricant. And yes, a tank of bar and chain oil per tank of gas is average. Good call on the ethanol free gas
@biz4twobiz463
@biz4twobiz463 4 года назад
YES, that is completely normal. Whenever you add gas.... you should also be checking and adding chain/bar lubricant. Very nice saw!!

If I could chime in? The person I learned about chainsaws from was well experienced and very committed to safety and getting many miles out of everything he owned. A lesson I have never forgotten is whenever you go to fill the fuel tank, fill the bar oil reservoir first. This way you won't forget or run the tank dry while you still have gas to "burn", only after the bar oil is topped up add gas. Second item, if you have a lot of saw dust built up in the channels that deliver the bar oil from the oil pump to the chain, some of this oil will saturate the sawdust, then as it sits on the shelf it seeps out onto everything. WORSE: that oil is not getting to the chain, putting the chain and bar at risk or maybe you have turned up the pump to compensate. Taking time to clean the saw and bar will prove helpful in any case. Third, you speak of the stock chain but is it possible the chain was not sharp. A Forrester/ Feller will touch up his/her saw at Coffee break and swap it out at lunch, then touch up the second one at afternoon coffee. A lot of people are out there buzzing around with saws that desperately need a filing. I have said too much. Be safe! Maybe attach a updated (ppe included) video to the original.

I've had my 435 for about 4 years now. Its a fine homeowner level saw. It lets me know if I'm pushing it too hard. Very dependable. It starts right up in the Spring after being stored all winter. Keep ethanol fuel out of it, keep it clean and sharpened and it will serve you well.

In Russia, this saw is delivered in a different configuration, the tire does not protrude from the box, the tire casing is orange, there is no capacity for oil. On the top cover of the saw we do not have a blue sticker. I own 435 saw, the reviews are positive.

A poorly run machine will fail regardless of how good, so it's hard for the manufacture or rep if a saw has been abused, hopefully a good company will work with you but it is not always their fault especially in cases of abuse neglect or lack of operational knowledge. I am an engine rebuilder and equipment specialist, so I buy used and fix. I may never buy new, too many poorly maintained saws for cheap, this is my point.. Why should they have to pay for someone's lack of maintenance knowledge. I see both sides.

Had it for over a year now! It's been great! No problems with it at all. Just add gas and oil ;) Though the stock chain wasn't very good against large pieces. I ended up getting a "non safe" chain instead which works very well. Lately I have been using this chainsaw quite a bit and was getting increasingly frustrated at how long it takes to go through bigger pieces of wood. After 2 times of buying a chain that doesn't fit my saw, I finally bought the right "unsafe" chain and boy does it make a difference! Now the saw eats through the wood very nicely! It feels great! This is how tree cutting should be! :D If there are those of you who have no idea what chain to get like I was, here is the one I got: Oregon 16" chainsaw chain 95VPX066G narrow kerf .325 .050 66 DL G66 H30-66

Word of Advice TV if it's in your budget, opt for A second saw for cutting the larger stuff. Use that little saw for limbing and cutting smaller trees. The 435-445 saws are made for small-medium sized trees. I recommend A Husqvarna 460 or A 465. Expensive, heavy, and large but they're made to cut larger firewood for longer intervals. The smaller saws can get the job done but you are making it earn its keep for sure. It'll burn that saw up after A couple of years simply because it isn't made for that much cutting. It's only my opinion and I'm just trying to be A little helpful :-) I'm 37 and grew up with A saw in one hand and axe in the other. Gotta stay warm! I have A video of my 460 if you would like to check it out. I recommend A saw that has an oiler adjustment on it. If it doesn't have an adjustment and you cut stuff larger than your bar length, there won't be enough oil flow if you do this often. Thanks for sharing! I just picked up another saw yesterday, A Jonsered 2255, used about 1-2 winters, and its A good saw. Let us know if we can be of assistance. :-)
@richhawkins2039

Now go watch videos on how to sharpen it. There is a lot of non-sense out there on how to do it - might want to check out Billy Ray and go from there. My favorite hand file so far is the one that files the depth gauge (some call it a raker) and the tooth at the same time. Granberg also makes a couple nice ones - again, some people gripe about the Granberg stuff. To each their own... Use the specs on the chain box for both up/down angle (10 deg?) and side to side (LGX is 25 deg as I recall). Wear gloves when you do it. I had mine so sharp last time, I sliced a finger open and had to get stitches. =O

That's NOT how you cold start it. After you choke it and it "burbles" just push the ignition switch down and then restart. It will then run on "high idle" while warming up. When warm, THEN bump the throttle and it will go to low idle.

My 455 (bought used) would leak the entire oil reservoir when left sitting... long story short, there is a little rubber tube that plugs into the bottom of the tank that wasn't sealing. I pulled that out, cleaned everything with brake cleaner, and pushed the tube back in place with a very small amount of black RTV to help it seal. Hasn't leaked a drop since! There may also be some leaking past the oil pump - assuming it's like the 455, there is a clam-shell design where the tube from the oil tank and the tube to the bar meet, and "clamp" around the pump. That can leak as well, but that's a lesser leak than what I had. That might be resolved with a small amount of hylomar, or equivalent gasket dressing. Another possibility is just that the remaining oil left in the tube from the pump to the bar is draining out (if it's just a very small amount after running). Some people say that cracking the seal on the oil reservoir after operation (and then closing tight before storage) helps relieve pressure build up from operation that may push bar oil out. All said, I'm really happy with the 455 (and square chisel chain), but my 021 hasn't leaked a drop in 18 years.
@johnkomosa4089
@johnkomosa4089 4 года назад
Wow, your 021, that's a Stihl correct? I had an 025, it was my favorate, I fix and sell them. One tip is keep a rag or cardboard under the saw and change it out from time to time, I have considered emptying the reservoir for long storage and fill when in season. Can't leak what is not there. I think the constant warming and cooling day night temps milks them out, most all my saws drool and I work on them all, I just tolerate it and put cardboard under. I have a burn from time to time, campfire. If you have a saw that doesn't leak consider yourself lucky, I like the old saws, so I tolerate it as long as the saw is operating good and sharp. I might run them dry and fill b4 use, where in the past, I always top them off, so they are ready to go, then the hot cold cycle (pressure, expansion, contraction) milks out a lip valve (like a check valve), Just a thought. Do what works for you and makes you safe and happy.

always makes me cringe when guys dont know how to use a chainsaw uses one without chainsaw proof gear. You do know that a chansaw fucks you up more then a hunting rifle? You will have that nice flannel shirt mixed with flesh in the wound, same with those nice black sweat pants, and lets not even talk about the shoes. The kick guard only does so much, all you need to do is slip on a little branch. A chainsaw injury don't require a first aid kit, it requires a trauma kit. Let that sink in before you go out there basically naked the next time . And just as a foot note, you can buy cheap sawproof pants/chaps for under $100. I know this is an old video and i hope you invested in some safe gear :)

All good points! I have since gotten better about that... The only thing I am lacking is the ear protection. I am planning on getting some soon though because my ears do ring after cutting for a while..

Take some advice... Do NOT cut things half way down the bar.. ALWAYS have the teeth on the front of the saw body up against the thing you are cutting. NEVER cut anything with the tip of the saw, you will be asking for the saw to fly back in your face.. NEVER EVER EVER cut things with the top of the bar.. Yes, you will see loads of people on youtube doing it, yes, loads of people will now come on here and tell me how clever they are and that i do not know what i am talking about.. Now ask yourself why so many people are injured with chainsaws.. Trust me, do not listen to the idiots..

An experienced sawer will use every part of his bar including his tip, your advise is good for the beginner such as this video author, however, an average sawer will cut with the top of his bar quite often. There are some very good videos out there, and some great sawers, I encourage folks to watch the videos and pay attention to the comments made by the pros, lots of folks like to help. Be Kind, call Noone idiot, we are all learning. I love to teach beginners how to saw, they are not idiots. Be a nice guy. Be kind..

Dude that's a dead limb, a pocket knife would have cut that just as well. Cut a green standing tree for a good example.

You got ripped on that saw. You could have got a Stihl (much better) for $100 less.

I don't know, I see alot of pros using Husky and Stihl, but never seen a pro use a poulan. Friends don't let friends use Poulans. It is the only saw, I shy away from , I had a few and would be fine if I never see another poulan again, and I am an engine rebuilder, Technician. The last one I had, I couldn't sell it fast enough. I sold it for parts after I serviced it to preserve my reputation, even though it fired up and all my saws are sharp. Simply, i don't like them, poor design, unreliable. My experience.
