Hey! I love the way you just JUMP IN and go for it like “whatever happens … happens..” my style 💯😂❤️ I am laughing so hard… but it’s because we love you! We are laughing WITH you though ❤️❤️❤️
Hey, your learning experience is our learning experience too! Showing us what NOT to do is just as important as showing us how to do something correctly! So thanks for letting us learn from your mistakes with you and for not being afraid to show them to us! We all know nobody is perfect 😀
I'm just 10 minutes in, and I can't decide whether to die laughing or scream NOOOOOOO. 🤣 BTW the calculator is on Eli-chem. And don't panic over not having enough. Pour it, make more, pour it. I've told you I love eco pour, I'll help you. I'll walk you through it. FaceTime me next time. 😂😂😂😂😂 You needed about 600g of powder and 200g water. Also, it is able to demold in 25 minutes. It's fully cured in 2 hrs. But it keeps drying for about 24hrs. Or throw it in the curing machine for about 3hrs. ❤
Your math is just about as bad as mine😂😅 I was screaming at my phone saying NO, that's too much water! 😭 The paints are for painting the finished product 😂 You do crack me up girl 😅
I was with everyone else saying "nooooo, that's too much water" 😄 I'm also terrible at math, so the easiest way for me to remember the ratio is for every 100 grams of powder, you need 30 grams of water. So for your initial 400 grams of powder, you should have used 120 grams of water. I gotten the marbles look, unintentionally, by mixing the powder and water thoroughly, then adding mica powder and mixing. I was afraid of running out of time, so I didn't mix for too long and ended with marbling. I also did the same thing using acrylic paint and ended up with a very cool texture, although I did have to wait for the paint to dry after demolding. One other thing that's worked best for me is to wait a couple days after demolding for the piece to dry completely. The pieces seems to "sweat" water for 24-48 hours, depending on the weather. But regardless of how you got there, your piece turned out really beautiful!
I have never worked with the casting powder, and everything you did, I would have probably done too! I did watch a neat video where someone painted the mold with chameleon powder before puting the mix in!
Clair’s Crafty Corner has all kinds of tutorials on stuff like this. I believe it’s supposed to be watery. You need to demold it and then let it dry for 24 hours. But I could be wrong. It came out beautiful anyway. ❤
Hi Michelle, I’m no good at weighing 3-1, but if it helps, 300grams of powder, takes 90grams of water. I watched loads of videos too. Claire’s craftycorner, and miniscencesgb are also good to watch. It’s a 30minute demold, and 24hr to dry completely xx love your tray x❤😊
Hahaha!! 😂. Oh Michelle, you crack me up!! No wonder it took like 7 hours to cure!! It is SUPER forgiving!! Just be careful with it dear, it may be a lil more fragile than normal with all that water. And you're actually supposed to leave it to dry for a day or 2 to make sure all the water is out before you use resin on it or anything...and then seal it. So, you might wanna watch what you do with it for a while!! 😊 💜 🤗
I love it! It looks like copper to me. A nicely worn copper dish. I was wondering when you were going to realize you added using 2:1 rather than the 3:1. I was actually holding my breath when you started pouring the water. I agree with you, this stuff is super forgiving! 😂 It turned out beautifully! ❤
I'm thinking the wrinkles are from the moisture still in the mix2mold. Clair did something similar and it wilted because she didn't let it dry out 24hrs. She tried it again if I remember correctly and waited the 24hrs and ended w a successful project. I LOVE this mold!
I definitely DONT think it's a "laughing stock" I love working through things w u! Tha k you for testing the alcohol spray for bubbles. I didn't want to waste the 1 pack of mix I had by spraying it w Alcohol.
I mixed my paint with water then added it the white I got my 2 tone blue that I wanted. I didn’t measure the ecopour and water. I made it about pancake batter thick just a little thinner. My projects turned out great. My bigger piece took two days to dry but demolded perfect after about 1 houri think the wrinkles are from the moisture that was still in the ecopour it needs to air dry typically 24 hours it turned great those flakes are the bomb!
You CAN mix the powder with acrylic paint. The following is from the Amazon listing for this powder: "Resin plaster powder dries to an opaque white color and can be combined with different pigments, mica, glitter sequin, quartz, sand, and gold leaf during the mixing stage. If you're looking for a vibrant color, water-based acrylic paint works best. If you're looking for a pastel color, mica powder works well for that. Add small amounts at a time until you have achieved a lump-free consistency. It can be sanded and painted with acrylic paint after completely cured." Also, the names of the colors are based on oil paint colors.
why is it that so many people decide that it's better to "wing it" instead of following the instructions the first time? The "wrinkles" are from where you used your fingers to spread the UV resin or from where you drizzled the resin in the bowl. it is pretty
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 please forgive me. You were the forth person in a row that I watched who did that and I'm a firm believer that reading and then following the instructions is the only way I'm very sorry if I hurt your feelings. I am not usually so rude. Please forgive me.
I find it infuriating if it is obvious that the instructions haven’t even been read. Feel free to disregard them but at least read the things that’s what they are for. I wing my eco pours but I have been using them for a fair while but when I started I followed the instructions. Saves from cocking it all up and wasting product plus if the ratios are way off the finished product will not last as long or be as strong as it should be. Less powder lowers the integrity of the finished piece.
In the beginning of the video I did read the instructions to all of you, and said 3:1, but in my head I accidentally did 2:1, which is why I winged it, definitely not intentional.
I saw a video where they kept all the chips and used them as add ins to the next project. If there was some left over, quickly add a color, spread it out thin to dry. Then crack them into chips. The Mix2match company sells what they call terrazo chips. This method does the same thing and you control the colors.
The only thing I know about the powders is what I’ve watched on other channels. I’ve wanted to try it thou. I was laughing with you & yes talking to my phone. This is very forgiving I see. The project came out beautiful in the end. Thank you for the tutorial Michelle !
Michelle, you can use acrylic paint to color it but it needs to be the consistency of what you’d use for an acrylic pour. I was cracking up and totally talking/yelling to the screen!
When I used the acrylic paint to try to color it(I did the same thing) it was splotchy. I think it’s the what caused the splotchy. It came out amazing though. The wrinkles are from the UV resin.
😂 laughing crying shouting noooo and working out your maths for you and telling you!!! Bless you this has been my favourite video in a long time because that's me using a new/different product too - I love the finished result and we love you so much thank you for this one.😃😍😃
I was JUST looking at this exact product, and you come out with this video. ROFL Steve McDonald in his video: If You Love Crafting Don’t Miss Out On These... says that if you want vibrant color, paint it with acrylic paint. If you want a more muted color, you can use Mica powders, but it won't be as shiny. There are also ResinCrete Pigments as well you can use for coloring. The website says that it will set in 25 mins demold and 2 hours cured. Though it says to leave it in the mold until cured so that it can be perfect. It's so weird that the kit doesn't say 3:1 on it. The kit Steve was reviewing even put how much water you needed for the bag. Guess that is the difference between a kit and straight powder? Steve uses a glue/water 1:1 mixture to seal it. Let dry and paint. It's interesting that you used UV Resin. Will have to look at that other channel video.
This turned out stunning Michelle. You had me in stitches..You are such an awesome person. Thank you for being the person you are. Like learning and laughing with you...Warm hugs from South Africa...😊❤
You were so cute making this nobody was laughing at you (maybe a little with you). The most beautiful pieces usually come from happy mistakes. Thanks for sharing.
I love it! U can actually use the acrylic paint to color casting powder it just takes a bit miss than u added and u will have to add extra water bc it for some reason soaks up the casting powder but either way great job
You definitely have the craft gods watching out for you! I love this mold. And the tray turned out gorgeous. I want to try this product. Thank you! And feel better!!💐
Thank you for posting this. I just purchased it and I've also been intimidated by it. I thought the paint was for coloring it too. I didn't know it was for painting it afterwards. Like the result. Just my 1 cent
Saw someone else do what you want- marble-He put it in smaller cups and waiting paid for it to thicken and then added color to the small cups and then put it back into the amount that he had in the big cup and then started around a little bit to make a marble defect. It’s Steve McDonald’s arts and crafts is his channel and he also has a second one too. That’s also Steve MacDonell but I don’t know what the rest of it is. It’s in his descriptions below, and he marbled several today. Check him out.
Regardless ...your piece turned out beautifully. I guess that's why I am terrified in trying the polyurethane resin. I am just learning using the resin. Baby steps huh? You are awesome , Michelle. Have a blessed night & weekend. ❤
🇨🇦👋 just a thought … my research says that you should give a full 24 hrs before applying anything … to give it time to fully/deeply dry. 🤔. But still beautiful end!
You do need to let them dry out after de mould , a price that size would definitely need a couple of days. I would leave it a week myself to be on the safe side but that is me. I use a cake cooling thingy. The flakes are definitely NOT foils.
Claires crafty corner , miniscenesgb , louise singleton all use eco pour powders from various companies a lot i think most have like 3 to 10 minutes pour time it is really fast , some are thicker some more watery , but this looks pretty
Yep I was one of those, talking to the screen!! But I knew to watch the whole thing this time cuz you would eventually get it!!❤ AWESOME job, Michelle!!
I laughed all the way through. Brain fog from your cold I’m sure. BTW you can colour it with acrylic paint but you need to thin the paint with a little of your water first. I watched Louise’s vid too and coated a little pot - not with flakes but normal chameleon powder. 💚🇦🇺
That will be the perfect little bowl for you to make one of your succulent gardens, mix some sand in resin and put your succulents in it, I love your color choice.
Funny, I was talking to the screen to tell you you were doing 2 to 1! Oh well, it came out fine, though I don't know how, LOL.😅 Great going. I hope you feel better, and thanks for the laughs! ❤
Other folks recommend you let it harden in the cups and break it out because if you wash it out in the sink it hardens in the pipes. If you have to wash it do it outside with the hose.
I’ve got to say Michelle considering that you are under the weather you did great! I would be snivelling in a corner!😢 loved the dish. Gorgeous colour! ☺️💐
Like everyone else I was chuckling 😂. When you said 200g of water I was like… that don’t sound right. And math is NOT my ministry. 😂But I would to see you try it again! I think it would be cool to see how it comes out. Like a lilac purple for spring.
You did better than me for your first time. It hardened before I could pour it in my mold. So my first was a bust 😊. Thank God I learned for my second pour and it went fine. So congratulations for your first! 👏🏻
If it’s anything like my resincrete you have about 8 minutes. So plan ahead! Stir together for about 30 seconds. Make sure it’s not lumpy which it probably won’t be. Then pour. It’s really pretty easy. Don’t let the process intimidate you. The paints are for painting the final product. Let it dry after remolding for at least 24 hours before you seal it,then paint it.if that’s what you want. The coloring is from the mica powder. Oh man watching this is making me crazy. I’m saying do this do that. 😂😂😂 I think it’s really pretty no matter what. ❤
Well you pulled that off! Way to go!🎉 You had me cracking up.😂 It turned out great. I love the flake finish, it’s beautiful. Maybe you’re already planning on doing this.. But, I think it’d be a good idea to let it air dry upside down for a few days or for a few hours in the curing machine, then apply a beeswax coat on the bottom. Especially since its home is going to be by your sink.❤
As you were mixing the product I was saying Nooo too much water, your measuring 2:1. I’m glad you realized your mistake. Thank you for showing us your mistakes. Now we know what not to do 😂
More from the Amazon listing for the product: "The de-mold time is 25~30 minutes and the fully cured time is 2 hours. Please allow it to fully cure before demolding in case the tiny details may break off. The thin, water-like consistency easily fills even the tiniest crevices, and its exceptional bubble-release ability ensures a flawless result. Any residual bubbles can be popped by tapping the silicone molds."
I'm surprised you have such a hard time with resin crete. I was making uv jewelry for about 6 months. I tried resin crete n hated it. Then I saw Steve mcdonald n tried it again. I've emptied 7 3000 buckets n 4 waiting for me. I love it so much. You need to get more comfortable. Cause as you've seen you really can't screw it up. You're good , i seen you do amazing stuff, dont let it beat you, try to relax n have fun have .
Omg! I was so stressed watching this lol. I think the wrinkles is because of the water. Usually have to wait 24 hours before coating :). And you were right. Cold equals wet lol. Good for you for winging it and learning though. ❤️
