In this video, I break in a friend's RB5 first base mitt and share my first impressions! Overall a great glove and would recommend it. 70 LIKES ON THIS FOR A COLLECTION VIDEO!!! Thanks for watching!
If I get my glove green, will the leather feel loose and used? I know you said the natural colors feel like better quality because of less treatment. Just wanna know if getting an unnatural color will be worth getting
the green leather may feel a little thinner and won’t form a shine like black tan or blonde leather. Getting an all green glove won’t really affect the form or feel, but the green will fade with time. Same thing applies to Royal blue, pink, red, etc
I just got my RB5 today it’s very stiff, I got it in pro stuff also it’s way more stiff then in this video mines like a rock lol we slowy working on it tho
Thanks for watching! So from what I remember it was pretty thin regarding the padding. I didn’t play enough catch with it and most of it went in the pocket. I’m sure a palm ball would have stung a lot.
I agree, catch is the number 1 way to do it. but if you watch my video you’ll understand that it’s to a achieve a certain shape on the glove to make scooping the ball easier. At the end of the day there isn’t 1 sure way to do it. Gloves are a personal thing, so I think how a person develops their break-in method should be personal too. My videos are just suggestions
@@914ballgloves8 I did find came across a 44 pro first base mitt at a thrift store a few months ago and it was perfectly broken in... never seen a glove broken like this. It wasn't worn out at all, but it was broken in.... Someone suggested that whoever had it may have microwaved it. To me that sounds crazy. But then again hot water and microwave treatment is new to me.
