Should You Buy These Baseball Gloves? - 44 Pro Gloves (Review & GIVEAWAY!)

If you didn't know, 44 does promos basically every holiday throughout the year and it's like 20% off. I have two 44 gloves. One is vibrant colors and the other is just blonde leather. I ordered the vibrant one first and have noticed that the blonde leather seems to be higher quality. not sure if that's due to them using different leather as time has passed or if it's because the "natural" colors are just better. I did experience a delayed delivery with my second glove, but also ordered it in 2021 so I'm not sure if it was covid related delay. It won't ever be rawlings or wilson quality, but the fact you can get a fully custom glove for $150-$200 is such a steal.

I have been subscribed for a while now. Used a lot of your videos with our youth baseball team. In regards to 44 pro gloves, I received emails roughly 6 to 8 days apart when my sons catchers mitt was being made. I even got an email on shipping with the tracking number. My sons glove took 6 weeks to get here and that was noted on the screen during ordering. It made a heck of a Christmas present this past year. The bad part is that the glove is super stiff and hard to break in. Thanks for all the great videos! Keep up the good work and collaboration with all the other guys!

I subscribed. Great episode! I really appreciate the detail you and KJ went into on your entire experience (including wait times and communications) and the pros & cons of 44 Gloves. Thinking of getting a custom as well and this gives me another option.

I had the same experience with the emails and I can confirm 100% they are auto-generated. I ordered mine on December 31 2021 and the emails came in exactly as you describe… then weeks go by and no sign of shipment. I emailed and they did actually respond and told me that they are generated automatically, and the reason the glove hasn’t shipped is because I ordered during a promotional sale (25% off) and therefore they get slammed with more orders and it causes delays. I finally received my glove yesterday, April 1 2022 so it took three months for mine. Overall I’m super happy with the glove and it was worth the wait. By contrast my son ordered his in October 2021 and it showed up in about 5-6 weeks. Knowing what I know now I would not hesitate to order again from them necause you can’t beat the quality for the price. I own several Rawlings HOH gloves also and this 44 is equally as good for much less money.

We have 4 kids 2 girls 2 boys 1 did softball and moved on The other 3 are still in various levels of baseball. I appreciate the videos always watching with a pen and pad and apply much from them. I had the exact same experience when ordering my son's glove last year, so I think you are on the mark with the timelines. One great thing about the customization is that the kid gets to "own" his designed glove. It's unique for him/her. What better way than to have a personal attachment to the game. Great channel, awesome insight.

I've loved my 44 gloves since getting them last year, have a full set, softball 13", baseball 12" & catchers mitt (that is difficult to break in) & my 1st base has the 1st base mitt as well. Have to say I got tracking no etc when it shipped to me in the UK on time, can't comment on schedule as I ordered in the middle of the "beer issue" & then having a promo on, where the site said they had limited staff & they were catching up from being closed down. It does say in the FAQs that it is 5-6 weeks for them to be made & shipped

I subscribed. Great channel! I also recently purchased a 44 glove for my 9 year old son who loves baseball and deserves a quality glove. My son loved the process of designing his own glove. The customization page was fun, easy to use, and provided a very accurate picture of how the actual glove will look. I had no issues with shipping. The quoted timeline was pretty spot on. I placed the order on February 4th and received the glove on March 16th. I agree with your assessment regarding the emails received when the glove enters different “stages of production.” I received an “update” every 7 days at almost the exact same time of day. Obviously automated. Even though I knew the email updates were essentially meaningless, it did keep us all excited about eventually receiving the glove. The glove is great. It’s quality leather and well constructed. Looks awesome too. I used a mallet to help start the break-in process and it’s coming along nicely. My boy has used the glove in three games already without any issues. He loves it which makes me love it. I think it’s money well spent and a bargain when you consider what a Rawlings, Wilson, or Nokona costs. My boy is a lefty, so your giveaway glove wouldn’t work for him, but if we were so fortunate to win, one of his teammates would surely love it. But for people (dads and moms) on the fence about buying one of these gloves for your kid, I would say don’t worry about it anymore and just place the order.

Having purchased a few 44 gloves in the past (both during COVID times) I can tell you that the month you received no update was when the glove was shipped to the U.S.. It probably sat on a boat for awhile waiting to get docked, offloaded, trucked out, etc. That's just the way that all of these gloves manufactured in Asia are going to be handled for awhile. I compared the dates ordered and the stages on both gloves as I bought them a year apart during the Black Friday sale (30% off). The first glove took 8 weeks to arrive, the second took 7 weeks. I did receive a Fedex tracking number once the gloves arrived back in the U.S. To be fair to 44, they are offering a pretty hard to beat price point for custom gloves with good quality leather. Wilson custom gloves state a minimum of 22 weeks for completion. Rawlings states 7 weeks but that timetable was from 5 years ago and may or may not be delayed due to all of the delays previously detailed for the arrival of your 44 glove. Lest we forget, a custom Wilson or Rawlings glove is going to run you more than twice the cost of a retail priced 44 glove (not even considering a discounted one). Even an off the shelf Pro Preferred or A2k (both kip) is going to run in excess of $350 without any customization at all.

Hey. I’ve got a quick question. Is it effective to throw a forkball from a sidearm slot? I throw it normally over the top with a good tumble to it, but I’ve gained a lot more velocity sidearm and it feels more comfortable. Thanks

I have been watching for tips on coaching. My son is 17 and the starting pitcher for his school varsity team. He also plays travel ball, at 16 he played for the Rawlings tigers 18U team. He started every tournament on the mound and ended up with a 2.88 ERA at the end of season playing against kids 2 years older than himself. Your tips helped me coach my son for his pitching, Thank you.

I subscribed. I ordered myself a 44 glove at the end of last year. Took around 5 weeks from order to delivery. I recently ordered a glove for my 9 year old that he designed. I imagine it will take about 2 months to produce as spring is here. Fingers crossed. The leather on these gloves is very nice as well.

If you think 2 months is a long time for a completely custom glove, you should look into return times from other companies. For what you can get from 44 and how custom you can make it, I'd be willing to bet they are tops in this field. For the price and quality, I'd take them any day. If you want more expensive and don't mind having something that is completely custom you can always go with Rawlings. But I'm willing to bet their turnaround time is 6-8 weeks easy.

could you adjust the size in the wrist so if you put your hand in it its not too big?

How was breaking the glove in for your kid? I just got one for my 6yo and he’s not liking very much cause of how stiff it is compared to his older glove despite trying to break it in for about a week already
