On today's PoM podcast I sit down and talk with Jake Hamilton, author of "Journey to Biblical Masculinity."
Jake Hamilton, leader of the global men’s movement The Fight, found the answers to his personal and the broader cultural crisis and debate surrounding masculinity in a mythological story.
Taking notes from Jesus-the ultimate example of masculinity and master of parables, Jake employs the mythical tale of Parzival and the quest for the Holy Grail in The Journey to Biblical Masculinity.

You said if the gospel doesn’t make it to your home that is a big failure. My question is how do I bring the gospel into my home with an unbelieving wife? I’m recently a saved new Christian and she is a non believer. I do ask her to pray with me for meals and she politely refuses. What am I supposed to do? Thanks.

Excellent question and as you know there is no easy answer except she is going to learn from watching and living with you what Christianity is all about. She may not want to pray with you now, but perhaps in time might see some genuine lasting changes in you that might make her more open to consider why that is. We have a number of men in Tribe who are in a similar situation and can attest it can be a challenge but if they come to Jesus it is worth it.

Thanks for taking time to reply. I will keep walking in faith in Christ and keep praying for her.

You are the head of the home. You set the direction. You set the tone for your entire home. It is your job to lead in such a way that it is clear that Christ is supreme and His Word is sufficient. Those that you are trying to lovingly lead may not agree with that mission, BUT they still need to SEE you model it. Strive to be a leader worthy of following. Pray for your family everyday. Trust God to bless. Read Psalm 127 & Titus 1:6-9 frequently. Find a church with Godly, strong men whos commitment to Gods Word, their families, and the church you admire. Work hard.

@ericfehrman, doesn't work. It doesn't always depend on you. You could be doing everything right and she'll still fight. She has sin and needs repentance too. She has personal responsibility too. Stop being one of those guys who says bullshit like "be a leader worthy of following". Because all that means is "play into the woman's game in order to change her behavior" which is nothing but a fools errand.

@@smokingcrab2290 Leadership in the home isnt some alternate kind of unique leadership different from every other sphere. If you hired a high dollar executive to run your company or Urban Meyer to coach your football team... would you accept "hey, it doesnt all depend on me... the employees/players are sinners too... they have responsibility too... its bullshit to think I need to be a leader worthy of following". You'd fire that guy in 10 minutes. OF COURSE your wife and children have responsibilities too - recognizing that is the foundation of what leadership IS - discipling your wife and children to grow into who they were made to be. Dont play the "its not my fault game"... every Christian man is in the "its may not be my fault but it IS my responsibility" game. Take responsibility for your home and get to work.
