Majority of immigrants who are Hispanic work the fields, janitorial, Gardner, and housekeeping in hotels and motels which are hard jobs but they do it because a job is a job and they do what they can do for their families 😊

Hello David, when you mentioned why people were coming to America it was to flee gangs, governments etc, it reminded me of growing up in a small town on the prairies in Canada during the draft years in the states. We had a family of draft dodgers come to our town. They had a family owned business selling fresh fruits and vegetables, and were a very popular place to shop. I can honestly say I never heard anyone say anything against them. We understood why they were here and felt bad for them. When the amnesty came in and they could go home, they did, we missed them, and their business.

Where I live it’s orchards. The farmers didn’t want their kids to work as hard as they did, so they sent their kids to college and hired immigrants. We can’t function here without the workers. We need them and want them here.

The comment about the watermelon workers resonates here in Cornwall. Daffodils have been rotting in the fields down here since Brexit as we no longer have the Eastern Europeans coming to do jobs that the British won’t do. Daffodil picking is back breaking. Youngster on social should be given a choice, find a job in a month or we’ll find a job for you. If you quit the job we find you within a certain amount of time, we’ll stop social money for a certain amount of time. May sound harsh but I remember going to work at thirteen on a Saturday to earn my pocket money, worked and supported myself through university, worked, paid my taxes etc. We have a generation in the UK that believe they are ‘entitled’ and have never worked a day in their lives living on government handouts. Yet when honest people fall on misfortune they don’t know how to play the system and miss out, or are ‘forgotten’ and slip through the cracks.
Im on SS do they have SS in Canada. Then i would consider moving to Toronto or Montréal or evven Quebec or i could move across the river and go live in Windsor but i would only do this if they have SS for Seniors. Yeah then i would do it!
