From the 50s 60s and 70s. For best reading watch in 1080p. Instead of keeping the casn for display, I'm j=keeping the covers and framing them. I post the video of dumping them out soon. Thanks for watching
@@CastleMisha yes, I thought the same thing about his reading skills... He said "seedless blueberry" when it was "seedless *BLACKBERRY* Also, he kept saying "B-12"... When it's actually "B-2"...
I was in the Army in the 1980s- pre-MREs, this is what we ate in the field. Some of it was pretty gnarly back then- hard to imagine how ghastly it would be now. I'm glad that smell-o-vision isn't a thing.
This is a cool channel. I like the random mix of vintage stuff, exploration, and wildlife videos. I think the food videos are really creating some interest.
My father purchased c rats for us 5 kids in the 70s. Our least favorite was the ham and eggs. They were disgusting then and apparently even more disgusting now.
love your videos being of an age that i can remember some of the foods its interesting to see how they look now some of them have lasted better than me lol
New England Wildlife & More Hi there! I just want to give you a tiny piece of simple advice. When you open a can and the food appears stuck and won't come out..just slide a butter knife in..at the edge of the can and push the knife all the way to the bottom of the can. Then drag the knife around the outside of the food..circling the edge of the can a couple of times. More often than not..the food will then fall out in one chunk. Works great for cranberry sauce as well. Have a great day!!
I gagged too and I'm a nurse , I've been peed on, pooped on, barfed on, bled on. The tuna really got to me. I agree , he needs a show on tv, but really I know so many people who have cut the Cable due to you tube, Netflix, and hulu
@@francescaditri9323 I had a canned tuna phobia for years, started when some got all over my backpack in grade school. Couldn't look at the stuff without gagging and feeling mild rage once it was out of the can, obsessive washing followed if it came in contact with my skin. Didn't get over it until my mid twenties, yes there is something about tuna... I think I'm having a relapse
@@Chef_Alpo I’m not going to brush my teeth and eat tuna for breakfast with rank mouth, while drinking egg nog. Then for desert eat some fudge brownies. Grossed out yet? Lmao I am a little.
The ham steaks, cheese and crackers were the best! I would always trade the spaghetti meal I would get with another soldier who had the ham, cheese and crackers. This was the early 80s. However, I just ate a sweet and sour chicken MRE, and I have to say the soldiers truly have crap to eat today. I'll take the c-rats of the 80s over MREs any day.
Just found this channel purely by accident. Don't know why this stuff is so fascinating to me but it is. Something for everyone I guess. Thanks! I appreciate you...PS: I knew that can of tuna was gonna spray. I was hoping you'd grab a couple pieces of bread and make yourself a sandwich. I mean, it looked ok to eat!
What turned you onto this food series I freaking love it keep getting more old foods Also my grandpa was in ww1 and had like 4 of these with him still have them actually never opened gonna keep them through they are really cool look like these but more of a yellow bronzed color
always interesting watching this kinds of stuff. but man, that tuna.. even tho it was sealed in a can i thought with that bulge thats gotttta reek! but i guess not.. was pretty surprised.
just an fyi if you want to smell something in a can but you keep smelling something else in your nostrils. take some coffee beans and sniff them a couple times it’ll “cleanse” the smell out. a trick at stores with perfume so you could smell each perfume without another crowding it.
What's crazy is they rationed food bc there wasn't enough, yet you were able to find so much left over that would've been good for somebody to be able to have.
