Action from day two of the Great Britain 15 steam tour would feature the double chimney Jubilee 45596 Bahamas heading from Bristol to Llandudno and for a bonus there was no need for an assisting diesel. The action starts at Bristol with the climb to Filton Abbey Wood captured at Concorde way and approaching Lockleaze. Both shots were not ideal due to the public footpath being currently under construction and in the second shot we encountered a very high fence and was barely able to get over it so we had to reign in on the zoom and pan. Once out of Bristol and into Wales, the weather worsened and with the Jubilee running early it was eased back on approach to Abergavenny, which was a shame as usually the driver would be putting down the power as they get ready to hit the bottom of Llanvihangel at Abergavenny. Thankfully in the next scene the Jube was opened up on the final approach towards the station and it powered past the signal box and the fantastic array of semaphore signals in style.
After the lengthy layover at Hereford we once again captured Bahamas, this time at Bromfield just after Ludlow Racecourse and then finally high up at Onibury which topped off our day nicely. A testing day for us but thankfully the results were more than worthy of a showing. We can now look forward to the rest of the Great Britain tour and fingers crossed there should be a couple more days of action to share with you. Also keep an eye out for my video of the Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala which should go live tomorrow evening.
