Thank you very much for these continuing very helpful videos. I had a refrigerator that had flashing LED lighting as bad symptom. I just shotgun tested diodes and found the Zener shorted. These videos are SO helpful for teaching me CORRECT analysis. I now see that the Power Supply was turning itself on/off (fluctuating) to cause the 14VDC LED circuit to flash the lights. Very helpful video.
it is really a most valuable comment for my. it is my pleasure to share my experience so if my efforts are helpful then it is biggest reward for me please accept my best regards and special thanks
A very good presentation, hats off to the lucid style and voice modulation. I have seen most of your videos and all of them are worthy to view and understand. May god bless you. Thank you very much. With deep love from Kerala a State in south India
ow thank you for your lecture all of your tutorials are direct to the point and at high quality when it comes to electronics theory and practical. from Philippines hehehe❤
You not only have good command upon the topic but also have a fantastic command over the Explaining method Awesome tutorial in perfect way Stay blessed my Respected Brother Keep shine ⭐✨
Please make a detail video on led driver circuit because most of house hold use led light and it is demanding a lot no any satisfying video on led driver circuit if it is available your way of learning is massaallah .thanks in advance.
Dear Haseeb, I never apply mains and power up a failed equipment before I have checked all power semic and electrolytic capacitors. The 5V1 zener you found shorted- dead in 5V section seems to be for overvoltage protection purpose. When you unsoldered it the output voltage climbs to 5.8V and the 12V section increases too. My diagnosys is: 5V section output voltage must be callibrated to 5.0 V so the 5V1 protection zenner never conducts and never slowly heat up and burn. If power supply not suffered an overload problem there s no other reason to get this type of failure.
Thanks for the tutorial. I am trying to fix a original Nintendo console with fluctuations to the voltage. I'm basic at this, so it may take me a while to find the fault
thanks a lot. every smps transformer is chopper transformer in early days any smps transformer was called chopper, at that time only one type switching topology was used which is flyback. but now there are numerous topologies to switch and we design a transformer as per our requirements
Thanks for all your videos. I've learned alot about SMPS. However, I've been working on a 3 output laser printer power supply that failed after sitting for a year or so. I checked all the caps, diodes, and the MOSFET with no luck. What I finally found was that the hold up capacitor for the controller chip was 47 ufd, as printed on the part, but the ESR was about 200 ohms which is obviously way too high. Once I replaced it with a new part, the supply came up and works fine. So, the lesson learned is that it is not enough to measure only the cap value, but also make sure the ESR is low (
dear sir I like how you explain circuits .I would like to know when you rotate the trimmer at the exit of circuit o regolate 12 V where this trimmer act ? in wich part of the circuit ? regards
Thank u sir for this great video...All video r very helpful & knowledgeable .. Sir i have a 24volt 5A smps but output volt is flauxtuate in no load condition & some noise occurred also main filter capacitor volt is 153v. What is the fault..Please help me.. Sir hindi main agar video banai to aur jada clear hoga samaj ne mai...Thank u sir...
Thank you for this video, sir we are making a switching charger for 48V 24A lithium iron phosphate battery for ebike, we have arrange all parts except flyback transformer, for 48V 6A flyback transformer where to buy please advise.
Sir i need one help, we have used one design of smps using ACT364-US-T Primary Switching Regulator IC. Because of it theres no need of optocoupler in design. Bridge is giving 311 volt to primary. We are using bu508 for switching. We are using EPC 13 bobin to drop down vtg upto 5v and 1a. But certainly we are not getting the voltage. Like we have 0 voltage at output. Can you help us where the problem might be.
Dear friend I am from Türkiye I follow your videos I need your helps I am an old technician How to find schematic like this for smps (without schematic its not easy to find the problems)
I was repairing an adapter, a power supply for digital weighing balance machine, specifications for this adapter printed outside of the adapter case shows the output voltage is 15v, the adapter had problem of voltage fluctuation, after following your video I was able to change the Vcc capacitor and problem was solved (no fluctuation anymore), however after repair the when i tested output voltage, results was 22v, is there any explanation for this, what could be a reason and what could I do more to rectify this second emerged problem of voltage output being 22v instead of 15v?
Sir , i have two questios 1) If we found a zenor in a circuit that is completly burn out, that means we cant find the zenor number of that diode how can we find the zenor voltage at that point? 2)If we want to see fluctuations, the analogue multimeter is the good multimeter for that?
if there is no number on the zener diode's body then it becomes headache but we can analyse the circuit, sometimes we get alternate to see fluctuations, analog multimeter is not much helpful as it have mechanical pointer so it have no quick response with compare to digital multimeter. digital multimeter have quick sampling so it is better than analog.
Do you have any idea why the circuit is working fine with lower input voltages for e.g 150 V but breaks down at 230 V? The main cap is fine. Checked all electrolytic caps. power is unstable in the feedback circuit.
please increase the resistor value connected in vcc section, in series with auxiliary winding and the diode. there is a resistance normally 10 ohm to 47 ohms if it is 10 ohm, try with some higher value 15 ohm, 22 ohm or 33 ohm and check result also check startup resistance (connected between main dc capacitor's +ve terminal and the vcc pin of the smps controller) try to increase some higher value (for example if 200K add 10K or 20K and check result) verify VCC capacitor connected at vcc pin of the smps controller ic
Did anyone notice that the Zenner diode's output side, R3 input side, and L3 outputs side, and the SMPS's ground and C8's positive terminal are shown as the same node? I think the schematic is shown (follow the dots where all the lines cross) has an extra dot that should not be there otherwise the second output the one in the middle should be at zero volts. Which one should not be there? Anyone knows? The Schematic is shown at timestamp 1:42. Also please include the link for the video he promised to explain how the output circuit should work right at the end of this video.
i salute you for watching my work deeply, i already added correction in video description, that there is a confusing short link acrocc C8 capacitor, the current limiting resstor R3 is connected to +5 volt line (c8 capacitor +ve terminal)
@@HaseebElectronicsI just looked at the description and there is no new comment regarding the short across the 5v cap. In addition at time stamp 17:00 where you discuss the role of the Zenner diode in conjunction with R3 and the optocoupler, its confusing taking into account what you just replied, i.e. that R3 is connected to the Cap + terminal and not with the diode. The role of that Zenner diode is still not clear in this case.
