I think the first few I bought were from Zedlabz and they all seemed good. I can't recall if I have ordered any DAP049 from AliExpress but I have received similar parts from them and they have almost always worked. I have only received what I think was a fake part one time and I think that was a PFC ic.
Ah man I've only delt with one roach infested console, but never will again. Lucky for you, you only had to disassemble to the power supply because I bet there were tons more in there on the motherboard. 🤢
I was lucky enough to not have crossed those. But last week I picked up a PS4 FAT 1116 with a slight water damage on the PS4 pcb. No traces of water on the PSU. The 240CR PSU doesn't supply voltage to the 4-pin connector. The F2 T1A Fuse was blown. After replacing it, still no sign of life. After probing a bit around I shorted one of the Schottky Diodes (24N60) essentially killing this Diode and the F1 Fuse. The realist in my mind says I shouldn't be messing around any more. The tinkerer doesn't want to give up. Are the 240AR schematics somehow usable for the 240CR PSU? I could only find those. Perhaps I should try to find out whether the PS4 board still works first.

I think I understand. You are speaking of the AC input cable. Yes, you can use the 3-pin cable. The third pin (ground) will not be used. If you look into the connector on the PS4 Pro power supply you will see there is no ground pin. It will work just fine.
Standby 4.8 voltage is gone after 12v loading (means short 5vsb and acdc stby) components look like ok , standbye VCC also fluctuating (DAP 046 vcc down to 10 to 11 volt) this complaint coming ps4 fat,slim and pro power supplies,you have any idea brother
That means there is a problem with either the PFC(Power Factor Correction) or the 12V generation circuit. If the 12V does not start for any reason, the management IC in the power supply will shut down everything. The DAP046 generates a startup voltage from the rectified AC input. Once the 5V standby starts, there is a winding on the 5V transformer that generates the voltage to keep the DAP046 running.
