This is what makes the world a beautiful place or a living hell. It all comes down to how we act as individuals and the kindness (or lack thereof) we give to the world around us. If you are reading this please know that we all have good and bad in us and we all go through hard times whatever it is you are facing you can get through it and find the peace that this old man just showed us.

Keeping animals would save you some work on the property - goats for example - are great for keeping down bushes/grass/small trees. Think of them as autonomous lawnmowers that also give you free fertiliser for your vegetables. Chickens give you eggs/fertiliser/meat and are very good at eating garden pests and leftovers. Horses keep your grass short and will work for you pulling carts if trained properly. Plenty of benefits with animals.
@mischawolf7727
@mischawolf7727 2 года назад
Agreed. You could also use goat milk, make some yoghurts and so. Id also reccomend ducks for eggs and controling pests. (: I would say, keeping some animals on your property and using their products is the way to go! (:

@@mischawolf7727 Goats and chickens seem good. I heard that ducks are pretty noisy/messy, are difficult to warm up to people compared to chickens and are a lot more work than chickens, do you raise them? I watched a couple homestead farm channels that have negative opinions of them and was wondering your opinion of them.

IDEA: You can use the 2 lakes of water to store electricity, I explain, one lake is above the other (with more height than the other) the water of the lake below rises with electricity (water pump), and then when you need electricity you connect the two lakes with a pipe, in the middle you have to put a turbine that when the water goes down it spins and produces energy. This method of storing energy is becoming more and more popular, for example, in 2023 the construction of the largest 'battery' in the world will begin in Spain using this method. Thanks to this you will not have to use batteries that have a high price and sometimes they are damaged, as there will be more and more people you will need more batteries, and it will surely cause more problems.

When I saw the stone/brick walls around the waterfall, my mind couldn't help but go to "alternate history" channels which I watch just for fun. One thing they talk about are structures that are hundreds or thousands of years old that no one today knows how they got there. When Tonecas said that his family went back on the land over a hundred years, and his great-grandparents said the stuff was older than they could know, it just blew my mind. Same when he was talking about the former village on the site. So much history is still getting lost. Makes me think of the hundreds of abandoned villages in Italy.

I haven't even started the video yet, but I just want to say thanks. It was your 1 year recap video that I first learned about you folks, and since then I've gone down the rabbit hole. I've learned about One Army and all the projects there. I've dove DEEP into precious plastics, soo much so that for the first time *in my life* I felt this INTENSE passion brewing inside me while I researched. I'm bipolar, and I leaned into mania while furiously reading and researching it all. I'm *going* to start up a facility. Maybe not right away, as I have some health issues that need to be addressed, and will take time to do so, but once I'm done with recovery starting up is my next plan. I've already reached out to a buddy of mine who's a recently disabled chemical engineer due to an accident and he seemed very much onboard. I'm soo excited to get this started, in the meantime I'm trying to network and lay the ground work for everything to go as smoothly as possible. Hoping for some big impact, as my location is pretty amazing for this type of thing I feel. AHH soo excited. Thank you for being who you are, and helping to influence the world to change for the better! edit: as a non vegan, that vegan food looked AMAZING.

Having some goats on the land would do wonders to control that forest! Rotationally grazing goats would be such a powerful tool to repair the landscape, you protect the trees you want and the goats can eat the rest. I have been rotating some chickens and even after just one year the effect is very clear, I even have some spots with grass up to my shoulders. Do you have any plans to implement animals in the project?

I think you’re doing just fine with going mostly vegan as it’s always preferable not to kill another creature and eat it. It’s definitely possible to be vegan without any exotic food that has to be shipped from overseas. We’re living in Spain and eat local (vegan and super tasty) food. And some eggs don’t hurt as long as the chickens are free roaming and happy.

I've seen some youtubers use waterfalls to generate electricity, It seems this waterfall is too small for that, but would that be something you would consider to generate electricity?

Yeah, while I have no doubt that Tonecas would likely allow them to, I doubt they'd be comfortable doing so since it isn't their land. I believe it was last weeks, or maybe the weeks before, I left a comment suggesting they create a liquid battery. Essentially you have an upper and lower reservoir connected by a turbine engine and reversible pump. The lower one (likely their pond) would pump the water up to the higher reservoir when they aren't using the power, or using "excess" power, then when they need extra power for say a big day project or something, they release the water from the top down into the bottom reservoir, through the turbine creating more power. They're typically quite efficient and can come with all kinds of added benefits. you could even have "runoff" from the top reservoir be used for a bunch of things like drip irrigation systems for the gardens, could maybe run a waterwheel to grind flour, there's lots of benefits to having them. The important part is having the two reservoirs separated by a big height difference while not being too far away horizontally. looking at the 3d map they did with the drones, I think they have one or two spots they could pull it off pretty well.

so long as you maintain the fact that the produce is local and sustainable, it would be better for both yourselves and your surroundings to have animal products in your diet. The problem with most meat and animal products is the way in which it is harvested, so as long as you can guarantee its sustainability and also ensure that the environment in which the animals are kept in is of high quality, then you are being most beneficial for your selves, and the planet

how lucky you are to have a neighbor like Tonecas, if it in my place the owner probably put a high perimeter fence already on that property, i see a humble, simple and honest man with Tonecas, if not that much to ask pls. help Tonecas also clean some of their spaces as a token of friendship since they might be already having trouble cleaning their places due to old age...thanks and keep safe everyone - long live Project Kamp ^_^

I like the Flexitarian approach. You'd go for a more Vegan diet but prioritise local produce instead of industrially prepared foods, and you'd be accepting any animal products that you'd get from neighbours. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

For the Q&A. Sticking to strictly vegan is kinda silly tbh. It would make more sense to raise your own chickens, stock the ponds with fish and even think about raising crickets to feed the chickens and fish. Hell, you can even use crickets for food and even flour. You can raise goats for milk, cheese and to keep the grass low. Would you be interested in doing this as long as it is done respectfully and sustainably?

Had exactly the same thoughts, veganism is all about sustainability in my eyes, so this would be the utopia for it, right?

@@oliviermonteyne7626 veganism views have been wrapped by society. Clearly they need to expand their base from just eating plant base to eating some form of meat. 90% of vegans go back to eating meat. They have the chance to really use the land for food and animals. Fish, chickens, goats and whole lot more.

@@oliviermonteyne7626 Yeah I want to see them use the land how it should be. Fish pond and having a natural source of food for them grown and prepared on the land to hold out till the next growing season. A patch a little bit larger than they would need for say a year to match the fish. Also setting up a breeding tank for fish and doing those things. These things are cool to be able to see over a whole years and you can get a few nice videos from it every year from how they process and grow the food to how they track the fish and check the water and what ever else. The same can be done with a breeding program for chickens. For example a chicken breeding program would take 3 years to come full circle and everything from collecting eggs to hatching eggs to butcher of the chickens and the meals they provide along with making food with eggs. I watch a bunch of primitive stuff and this one person I watch pretty much does everything except he does not have chickens. He does have fish and grows food and builds a lot of things.
