I need to be completely truthful here. I pressed the like button before I watched the video because I just assumed it was going to be good. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed.
Paused video to make a guess. Hollow points make decent holes and so do wadcutters. I’m gonna guess it makes a surprisingly small hole and takes it like a champ. Bring on the pain and let’s see if I’m totally wrong or just mostly wrong. (I’ve only shot handguns and 5.56 and 7.62 x 39mm at one.)
Great videos. I am still trying to figure out where the accent is from. My daughter heard the video and looked up. She told me the accent does not match the person. I had to tell her. Where dad is from the black kids and the white kids sound just alike. I was raised outside nashville. The accent sounds familiar.
This was dumb. Self healing targets are boring to shoot, with the exception of the ones that roll around when shot. Id put the .470 up against something solid so you get more of a reaction on impact
Those two, neat holes tell us that the rifle and cartridges are doing their job, correctly. Why? Consider what the double rifle and the .470 nitro express cartridge were designed for - to quickly put down the heaviest, most dangerous land animals. These animals have tough, dense hides, muscles and bones for the bullet to penetrate, before it even sniffs at the organs, hence a large calibre, slow, heavy bullet to slide through all that and successfully stop the elephant, hippo or cape buffalo. If those bullets did anything 'exciting' to the target, that would suggest they aren't fit for purpose and you would find yourself facing an angry beast with a nicely engraved club.
