Actually it's kind of well-known sort of that aggressively getting to your final gear and staying there produces better fuel economy, or can. I'm not sure how it is in the hybrid on the EcoBoost sport mode is kind of crazy. Over the top.
Ive tested all modes in same temp and wind, and eco did best on mpg because its in electric mode a greater percentage of time. My display for the mpg reading is consistently 4 mpg higher than the real mpg when you divide miles driven by number of gallons used. And thats true for all modes. It reads 44 almost all the time but the math comes out to 40 mpg And there is also a crazy range plus minus almost 2 gallons when you fill up depending on what pump you use and how sensitive the shut off is. It can also get an air pocket so you think its full because gas is overflowing from the top but it can actually hold almost another 2 gal. Not doubting anything. Just observations with my 2022 mav hybrid. I need to retest to confirm the results have which is sport mode being worst on mpg because of that I havent used that mode very much. But because of your video I will definitely give it another go. I consistently get 2 mpg better with eco mode with all variables being the same. which is tough with hills and weather changes.
Karmen or Caren? I called it people will be confused. People if you watch and listen to my videos, write down the statement or comment word for word. Then if you are still confused, write back to me. And word for word write down what confused you.
Oh wow you might actually be right. I tried driving on my way to work today in sport mode. And surprisingly I got better mileage. The engine seems to run more efficiently in the sport mode. Full throttling my instantaneous fuel economy was reading about 15-18 mpg but in regular mode when the engines running and I’m just cruising barely touching the gas it runs at like 8mpg. Wish there was a semi sport mode which would still allow electric function with a more aggressive engine
Amigo, only 1.9 MPG away from 50 MPG that I get on "ECO' mode in Tucson AZ., so you can do it to, on the "ECO" mode ! .... Si?..... All the Best.... The Old Gringo.....
Great question. Mpg was 45 mpg. Again I am not an aggressive driver. So mpg stayed hi. Lowest mpg I got I believe was 36mpg but then again I was exceding 75 mph. That affected mpg.
you can tow with the hybrid btw, things like a jetski, or small pop up trailer, anything upto 2500 pounds. BUT not everyone tows things. LMAO. I don't tow anything. I use it for camping, kayaking and suburban dad stuff like dump runs or Home depot mulch. Not everyone wants to look like a tool like most truck drivers these days. Huge ass trucks never hauling or towing anything. whats the point?
