I ordered my XL Hybrid 14 months ago in Atlas blue...I've had it 3 weeks and Im happy with it....Ill never tow or do very little hauling...I got it for the fuel economy....
Thanks! That would be a pretty ideal build. The only thing I might consider would be the Lariat with Sync3 to get factory navigation but running off CarPlay with offline downloaded maps is a close 2nd haha
Just got a 2024 XL AWD eco boost I got it on the lot for $26,876 out the door. I use 93 octane it runs better. I will get wheels and tires 🛞 level kit.Did a few mods already.
Wow that's a steal! I figured it would perform better with a higher octane. Did you try running for a few cycles with 87 before you jumped up to 93? Any plans to shoot any content on the upgrades?
I'm getting mine on tuesday, I'm surprised a ford dealer 1.5 hrs away from town has a XL only option is 2.0 ecoboost and awd, I snatched it right away. $34,668 CAD.
@@CarsWithSteve A 2021 hyundai kona awd 2.0, it shoulb be a big upgrade power wise but will definitely miss my heated seats and heated steering wheel, lane change warning and rear traffic alert, but will definitely be happy with the bed feature.
Another great review! Glad you're reminding people about the maintenance and break in periods. I generally deal with Highbury Ford in London, and they know I follow the break in period, and this has helped with trade ins! I considered a Maverick, the size was quite different to the Ranger I had. Either truck is more maneuverable in tight areas than an F150, and both fit in a parking spot easier.
@CarsWithSteve I have digitally, haven't seen an actual truck yet but will be looking. They appear to have addressed quite a few items to improve the truck. Would love to drive one with a 2.3 to make a personal comparison!
I'm in the same boat.. just pictures for now. The interior design looks neat but a few folks from the Pickering dealer went to a Ford event and took the Ranger Raptor off road and said it was a beast
I just got the base model for 25k off the lot just needed something with good on gas beings this is my second vehicle. Hopefully it’s worth the hype 🙏🏻😅
I drive a 2016 Chevy HD high country Duramax. Buying the wife a maverick XLT Tuesday, We have 1 kid that’s 14 and he fits in the back seats. So why not, I’m getting her the hybrid.
Nice balance in trucks there.. heavy duty for the toys and small and compact for getting around. Were you able to find an in stock hybrid or doing a factory order?
Mine is in production with VIN assigned 2023 Oxford White Hybrid. Delivery soon.Ordered 9/15/22 I wish I could see how far the passenger seat goes forward thus eying the backseat room with that front seat all the way forward. The MPG of the hybrid is what I am over the top about. I will be getting the Katzkin seat covers to soften the seating too and comfort level.
Wow.. hopefully you weren't in too much of a rush to get into a new car! Interesting view point idea for the passenger seat forward though 🤔 I'll see what I can do on future videos for that view. What color Katzkin are you going for?
Nothing outside of the ordinary for maintenance, just follow the regular service intervals in the owner's manual! If you're doing work yourself, oil changes in hybrids are usually set at longer intervals and if you ever need to swap or inspect the main 12v battery it's under the rear seat instead of under the hood
@CarsWithSteve well lol 😆, I love both the same. But the capability of the Tremor is way different than my Hybrid. I have off roaded in the Tremor and I can tell you first hand ✋️ it awesome. But the Hybrid gets gas mileage on my daily commute the Tremor never will. Thats why I say I love them the same. If I could only have one, hands down the Tremor though.
Really hard to beat that hybrid mpg and you're the first person I've heard from that's taken their Maverick Tremor off-road so it's great to hear it handles well! If you ever post a video, send it my way
Steve , as always great in depth review. Hoping to see a heads up display tutorial sometime on the Escape. I'm sure it's not easy to find one equipped with it with short supplies right now. Cheers.
Look around for a high volume dealer. They normally will sell at or under sticker price... If you haven't tried a factory order yet.. find that high volume dealer and get one put in. Probably 6ish months to get one depending on your build
I have a 2024 XL non hybrid, (don’t trust fords hybrid tech so the base eco boost will last double the years of the hybrid in my opinion)… its Blue, it has less than 200 miles and will be for sale in 4 weeks.or less… 30k
Please don’t suggest people use high octane. The engine is not tuned for it and provides zero benefit. I feel that’s a personal opinion which is ok but people come here for a honest review.
Min recommended is 87 octane, engine stress and performance tests are done with 94. It is honest to tell people what I do especially when running turbocharged engines
One thing. If you plan on keeping the truck 10-15 years buy the 2.0L. The hybrid battery and electric system will die in 10-12 and will cost $8,000-$10,000 to replace. A head gasket change on that 2.5L Atkinson cycle motor? $5,000. No one knows how to work on them.
The 2.0L has been pretty good so far. I'm keeping an eye on forums to see what hybrid owners are saying about theirs.. should have a better idea on long term reliability in another few years as mileage starts racking up
