The sausage is cured. It's not "raw" even if you don't cook it at all, so you could eat it straight out of the package. You're just warming it over the fire.
@@LaurenCotter Yeah it's actually a thing - "I was in such a hurry I had zero time to eat, just had a cold "nakki"/sausage straight from the pack" :D it just tastes like lunch meat/deli meat. Next time you're here you'll have to go all in and have one completely uncooked, it's ok :D
Thank you, I so regret throwing it out now 😂🤭. I wanted to eat it but thought I’d be sick. Silly me, I guess this is my excuse to return to Helsinki to try the sausage again 😁🇫🇮✈️🙌🏼.
I was born in Espoo and lived my childhood in Finland, but I have lived in France for a very long time, I love watching videos about Finland, to remember and discover new things, I am delighted with this video, kiitos.
Oh wow, I checked your channel and thought you'd have like thousands of views in your video, because the quality, timing etc. is excellent. Keep up the good work :) I guess the "competition" i quite high on travel vlogs. I live in Helsinki and I have been in Kot Chicken, Cafe Regatta and Christmas markets, but not yet at Löyly, I find it quite pricey. It was cool to know about that reindeer accommodation, fun idea to feed the reindeers from the window.
Awww honestly thank you so much for saying that! 😁🙌🏼 RU-vids algorithm is a hard one to crack so hopefully with time my views will increase 🤞🏼😂 You’re so lucky to live in Helsinki, I want to go back again next year it’s just magical! ✨🇫🇮
Wow that takes courage to jump into that water. But what a beautiful country. It’s truly a winter wonderland. Wow and reindeer? So appropriate. Merry Christmas 🎄
Hahaha I know right! Thank God the sauna was right by otherwise I think poor Lee might’ve had a heart attack 😂😂😂. That’s exactly what it was a winter wonderland and the reindeer were just magical. Thanks so much for watching and supporting as always Nestor 😁🙌🏼. Merry Christmas 🎅🏼🎄🦌✨
One finlander here. I live in Eastern part at Finland. Right now today it is -4 celsius. Some snow falling and we have already 20centtimetres of snow here. I'm just waiting for the lake freese enough to get icefishing. Would like to get some christmas dinner fishes out of fresh!
@@LaurenCotter Yeah it is cool. Some people have all the gear, fish radar, mechanic drill, even a tent over them... But I go old style. Put some warm clothes on and drill holes with hand tool and just sit there.
I’m going to Helsinki in April. The algorithm suggested your vid. Love it so far I’m halfway in. Was it easy to navigate the public transport? That’s the only thing that has me sketched out a little sketch.
Woohoo the algorithm is finally on my side 😂🙌🏼. Aww you’re gonna love Helsinki!! Yeah I found the public transport super easy to navigate. We used the Citymapper app and it’s really accurate. Also, if you’re getting the train to the city centre buy a day pass as it works out cheaper. Hope you’ve the best time. ✈️🙌🏼😁
Omg I love this ! That reindeer cabin is so frieken 🥰 cute! I wish I had more then 20 hour there bc I’d be hella down to stay there! I’m really excited to “see “ Helsinki .. what was the conditions like with the day time light vs darkness? I think all I have real time is to see the Xmas markets .
Awww you're gonna LOVE it in Helsinki!! It was super cold, but with thermals and then layers and hand warmers, it didn't really effect me at all, thankfully! It's magical there, I hope you've a great time!
If you click on the video description (just under the video) I've posted all the links to everything we booked. For the pub tram you can't prebook tickets, you just pay on arrival. It wasn't overly busy when we went so you should be grand. I think it runs every hour and they take an hour break for lunch. The times are on their facebook page. Hope you've a fab time! 💖💖
Of course, it's passenger. It's SUPER cosy and warm. eu.passenger-clothing.com/collections/womens-changing-robes-ponchos/products/escapism-sherpa-lined-changing-robe-rust there's the link to it 🥰
That 8€ for 2dl of Glögi just hurts. I get that they need some profit but that price is just absurd. I hope it was at least some good stuff and not the basic grocery store one that sells for 2€ per liter (without alcohol of course). Also almost all sausages here are already cooked at the factory so even if the meat looks red, its not raw. The texture is not the greatest as it is left over meat and also some flour.
I shouldn't be surprised it's the same price in London for the Glögi 😂I will say it was DELICIOUS! Very much worth the €8 so that was grand. Haha flour & leftover meat explains the texture and why I thought it was still raw hahaha lesson learned for next time. 😁🙌
Merry Christmas from Florida. We are hoping you enjoy your holiday in Finland. We will be there in April and are looking forward to it. Subscribed to follow along. If you enjoy culture, food, nature and history, we are a father and son team of ecological anthropologists with a channel you might enjoy. Cheers to your travels and content. - Turtle
Merry Christmas to you both. I hope you've a fab time in Finland in April, you're gonna LOVE it there. Super safe, clean and TONNES of nature! Just subbed you guys after watching your Athens vlog. Hope you've a Happy New Year & more travels to come. 🙌🙌🎇🎇
It's Nuuskio Reindeer Park. Here's the link to the accommodation www.nuuksioreindeerpark.fi/fi/yo-paremajassa/. Thanks for watching & have a lovely Xmas 🎅❄️
Haha my pronunciation needs work 😂... You're so lucky to live there, it's magical! Can't wait to return again. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you 🎅🎇
Thank you, Lauren! Finnish has pronunciation challenges, for sure! 😂 And because I found your video, I discovered I don’t have travel up north to be around reindeers! 🙏🏻🤗 I’m going visit those reindeers in 2 weeks time! After all these 11 years I’ve lived in the Helsinki region! 😋🥳 I hope you had a good Christmas, and welcome back! Santa awaits. As for 2023, all the best! I made this drone video on 1st Jan, enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ATiH6QkWVbE.html
@@LaurenCotter Yes, they're selling it in Lapland for souvenirs. Small plastic tubes containing ground antlers with information to swallow quickly or your neck will become stiff.😂
