Ok, so you’ve got a trip booked for Kyoto. There are so many temples to see! So many things to eat! What are you going to do in a short trip? We’re going to show you how we would spend 48 hours in Kyoto, and hopefully give you some ideas of where to go and where to stay when you’re here.

See, this is why i like you guys. You don’t advertise the hot spots or the “hidden gems” that would appeal to a larger audience. Instead, you stay true to what you guys like. You had shots of temples and historical buildings here and there, but i like that all the places you focused on were all things you both love. The early-morning diners and the hipster coffee shop and the choclate boutique and the udon and the home cooking. Half those things you would never find in any other japan-inspired video. It’s what makes your channel unique and it’s why people are drawn to your channel. Thanks for another great video!

I got lost in Kyoto a lot times when I stayed there for 5days. But it made me fall in love with Kyoto. The infrastructure is so pretty 😭😭😍😍. The side streets are amazing. As manga/anime fan, it's how I imagined Japan looked like.

We accidentally went to that Ramen shop! My husband and I were riding our bikes to return them and saw that line. While we stared at it, an old Japanese man told us to go there because it was famous and we waited in line and loved it!!! Ahhh so cool!!

Ok, I've been really bad at my new year resolution of commenting more on things I like. Also I had to pause the video because I was mesmerised by Martina's iridescent lip stick 💗 When we first went to Kyoto my husband hated it until we wandered away from the tourists and found a temple with a giant fish gong, an abandoned castle and took a scenic train ride to see a giant Tengu face. It started raining while we explored the shrine nearby and because of the heat (thanks Japanese summer!) the mountains became shrouded in mist. We were the only people on the train back and were given the train conductors recommendations on the best seats for the ride back. Once back in the city the rain brought out all the colours of the lanterns hanging on shop fronts and the lights reflected in the puddles. It was a nice day. 💖 Thankyou for sharing your nice days Simon and Martina 💖

This was so fun to watch! I’m waiting for TabiEats’s video on Kyoto as well, so this will be exciting to see how your experiences differ and to see where I should go on my next visit to Kyoto. I actually did something similar but was 68 hours and had a lot less food related things. Went to SO MANY temples/shrines though and fell in LOVE with Kyoto!!! I even climbed all the way up the mountain to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. For food, I booked a place to try a traditional Japanese breakfast and for dinner, I went to a Japanese family’s home and helped cook a traditional dinner! It was so nice! Thanks for the upload!! Keep on being your amazing selves and take a breather sometime!

Watching this lovely video was so nice but also makes my heart hurt. I also spent 48 hours in Kyoto and it was the best 48 hours of my whole 9 day stay in Japan. I loved it so much and if I didn't have prior commitments in Tokyo, I would have stayed there. I miss my time there often. From Nishiki Market to Kiyomizudera, everything is so amazing. So much to see, eat, and explore. Love love love Kyoto! Can't wait to be back. I just realised how tall Simon is to Martina, who is by no means small at 5'7"... Simon must be a damn skyscraper in person!

I really needed this. My SO of 7 years abruptly dumped me last week and even said they haven't loved me for about 2-3 years now. I've just been in a lot of pain. I woke up randomly at 6am(PST), because of pain and coughing(sick, very sick, EDS acting up because sick). And I am so glad that mere minutes after giving myself all my proper meds, the alert that this had gone up, happened! Thank you guys for giving me the first rung on my ladder, today! Next rung will be the extras video, and the next will probably be allowing my meds to do their job, and let me go back to sleep for a while. 😴 But thank you guys for giving me something so wonderful and positive, when I woke up in such a negative manner. 💗

Dear Simon and Martina: Some days before I saw your file soon after coming to Japan from Korea. I felt you had lived at a very nice place with nice neighbors. You know such things are very important for us to live in any country. But now I understand you have really enjoyed living in and traveling around Japan. It's nice for me to see such things. I was born in Kanto and like Edo-culture and do not like Kansai-feeling so much. But, concerning foods I put more marks to Kansai. They have advantage that Gosho, where the emperors lived, was in Kyoto for a long time, i.e. was a center of Japan. Now you have experiences about taste of Kyoto! Great!

Hahaha, I have a couple of friends I went with to Japan this summer and they are huge coffee people. It took us foooorrrever to find the Weekenders coffee shop, but so, so, so worth it. Highly recommend getting lost and eventually finding it. It's worth the trouble!
