I was at Isla Contoy the other day, very close to your area. I can promise you it is one of the best islands you have ever seen if you visit. Keep making great videos! Back to cold Canada tomorrow 😢
I've also heard that Contoy Island is beautiful--ONLY pristine, tropical nature! But my understanding is that only day trips are available there from Cancun, so development has PURPOSELY been avoided. Do you know if that's true?
@@claudia-susanalugo5281 it is a protected island that does not allow development on it, it is full of nature and rare to see in these days. Only a select few government regulated tour operators are permitted to take a select number of visitors daily. They collect a tax that helps the preservation efforts of the island.
Been awhile since I checked in and glad to see you are both well, I will go back over the video's I have missed in the last 2 months. Keep up the great work and take care.
Lloyd and Mandy, I really enjoy your videos! Both of you don't seem to get upset by too much about things! Mandy is one of the most positive people on any travel video that I have ever watched!
You guys are so chill. Isn't it great, wherever you go in Mexico is awesome food. Pastor is everywhere. I could smell those tacos, yum! What was you favorite part about Holbox? The sandbars, the water, the seclusion, food, maybe biking around...?
Glad to see you two finally went there. We were there a year ago & loved it also. There was, however an incredible amount of garbage in the streets as soon we got away from the zocalo, beaches. The locals told us that the government had plans to remove the garbage as well as bring in electricity from the mainland since the island runs on a generator plant. They believed this would wildly increase property prices & make it a great place to invest--of course a highly subjective opinion but... Anyway, great vid. Tks
ONE TIP for a Mexican ,when you come to Mexico … NEVER order all your tacos at once ,they will get cold by the time you eat the last one. ALWAYS order 2 or 3 max and then keep ordering .
Such a good vibe from your video your kindness shines through and i had myself a vodka soda with lime... Ok a couple.. And just relaxed to your video. Thanks
@@LloydandMandy thats great, just a little advice, to see the whales and all the sea life you have to go on january and february, i think, not sure but around those months are the best time to see the full sea life of the sea of cortez!
Super video, Guys! Hoping to see you two settle down somewhere permanently, soon. You seem so unsettled. I always ask myself: "What are these two people running from?"
I'm confused. Thanks so much for taking us to some of the most beautiful places in Mexico but how do you find them. Last year I stayed in a hotel between Carmen and Tulem this year I'm staying nearer Carmen and I'm torn between your suggestions. And staying at playa Carmen. Thanks for making your vids so entertaining . For me I'm going to stay safe and just follow your suggestion. By the way you are the perfect couple
Always love your guys' content and music choices, thx for making these vids One thing surprised me, though. Thought it was pronouncefd "Hól-bosh," but hey
Thank you for watching! We have had a lot of people tell us this, honestly we didn't know as we had only heard it recommended by English speaking people, so we've done some research and the correct way to say it in Spanish is Ol-Bosh, but it's actually a Mayan word, so technically both and neither are correct LOL
How is Lloyds hand after that encounter with that dog? Beautiful island. Thank you for sharing your travels. It’s helped with my Chronic diseases. I feel like I’m coming along with you on your travels. ❤️
I love the way you travel. What an awesome attitude to discover new places and people!! How can you don't look bothered by so much negative propaganda about safety in Mexico? Thanks for the video!
I was looking at that place on google maps already not having been there. I’m curious about the luminescence. It seems like there are some lame (but perhaps accurate) reviews about some beaches around there, but you guys did it justice 👍 🙏
Excellent video. My wife and I are traveling to Holbox, from London to Cancun, at the end of July for two weeks and was wondering if you had any advice regarding drone use. I’ve heard some stories of customs charging a hefty tax for drones at Cancun airport and wondered if you had any advice on this. I have a sub 250g mini 3 pro? Thanks for an informative video.
Great job guys! Someone has to go to Paradise! Might as well be you Two! I love your Vids! I would hang out & have a beer if I ever see you! Take care!
Was it ok to ride the bikes on beach an street or really hard? Looking for a day visit from playa with my 22 year old son, not worried about him but me! I work out but ….
Hi folks! This is important about your dog and hopefully you know this... Distemper can be a problem in Mexico, and can be horribly fatal for your dog. Please make sure that your dog has a distemper vaccine. Happy trails. 🐺
❤ your videos. We are currently in Vietnam! Travelling for 6 months in south east Asia We visited Isla Holbox a few years ago and I got infected with parasites called “cutaneous larvae migrants”. Basically a larva coming from unvaccinated dog poop. It took me three months to resolve with the help of tropical medicine specialists back at home due to the medicine not being available in my country. Treatment is easily available in Mexico… keep your shoes on in shady areas 😁
wow, that's crazy. Mandy has had a parasite here already, would you mind telling us what the symptoms are? feel free do DM us in private if you're not comfortable, thanks for the heads up!
Super itchy and every day a line appears for each parasite under the skin where the bug has travelled. Not where it currently is… Lots of photos on Google. Good luck! Hopefully what Mandy has is minor. Pharmacists in Mexico are very aware of this problem.
Nice video!!! Quick heads up... The X in Holbox is not pronounced like an English "X"... It's more like "Sh"... So it would be more like Holbosh... Just like all the other X's from the Mayan language. Xel-Ha for example... Or Xpu-Ha.. All of them are "Sh" sound not "eks"
Dont go when it s rsined as streets filled with mud type clay and puddles and full.of mosquitos.. was a real.island. Yes was at same resto and hot corner bar at night ... vibrant lol...Luminescence really worth seeing. Whale shark just 2 wasnt as seas roughest an understatement. Liked rough and ready taco resto and tour of island. Felt 5 days long enough. There was a currency exchange but the 1 atm working wasnt lol so take cash...
Idk, probably not my pick if I've got a week vacay. Too many other cool beach towns in Mexico that aren't a mud hole. I always enjoy your videos tho 👍🙂
@@LloydandMandy Am still finding it difficult getting to sleep ,thees only one solution ,Mandy you'll have to come back to Australia, , I'll sleep a lot better maybe if I can send you a Vegemite sandwich,,I just wish I could send you a ham and pineapple pizza
