RASTA VIBES! I've been very interested in the Rastafarian culture since I got hooked on Bob Marley as a teenager. I mean, wasn't everyone obsessed with Bob Marley at some point in their lives? He is a living legend!
It turns out that Bob Marley was one of the first people to bring his Rasta culture to all corners of the world. And believe it or not, Rastafari is not just a culture or a social movement -- it's the world's newest religion that started in the 1930s (as an offshoot of Christianity). Rasta people typically have dreadlocks, listen to reggae music, eat vegan food and smoke a lot of ganja.
I went to Jamaica to learn more about the Rastafarian people, culture, and lifestyle -- and I ended up spending 48 hours with an amazing community in the Blue Mountains. Here is the full story! Share this video with your friends if you enjoyed :)

what are you saying here .With these people there would be no innovation and certainly no improvements to help the people. they chill because they have no responsibilities and everything is around . this peace you get when you have no responsibility, is like people with disabilities they are happy because they don't know any better. And I don't know what kind of neighborhood you live in, but where I live there is peace and people are normal. just speak for yourself and don't talk about the world

There's a Rastafari community near my hometown and people think it's a dangerous neighbourhood but I've walked the streets during late hours and all I got was greetings and offers to have some food and beer. We just chilled and spoke about what we believe the after life is and how to get there. We disagreed on some things but it never became an argument. It's all just calm vibes and respect. Rastafari is not just about smoking. The true way of life runs deep. Very deep.

Same, but out of the Jamaicans I know, only 1 is a Rasta and there is a big difference between them, he gets very annoyed when people refer to the other Jamaicans as Rastas!! I remember one time we were working on a garden and someone was going to get us some food, one of the Jamaicans asked for a bacon and egg bap and Sam, the Rasta, made that sucking/skin ya teet sound and said "Call yourself a Rasta man, eating fucking bacon and egg bap!"

I remember after going into remission from cancer and since I was and still am healthy my cousin wanted to celebrate and he asked me what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go and I said Jamaica. He has a friend in Jamaica that is actually financially well off and he was able to take care of everything. I told my cousin I really wanted to meet Rastafarian people and spend some time in their Village and my cousin's friend was able to tell us about a really wonderful community. When we pulled into the Community Village or whatever it's called I was actually wearing my cancer survivor t-shirt that my cousin made for me. The people were extremely welcoming and when one of the men saw what I had on my shirt he patted me on the back and said good long life to you my friend. And this Rastafarian lady took me around the village to meet people and talk to people. Of course my cousin came as well. When she told the rest of the community members that I was a cancer survivor and went into remission a bunch of people came over and gave me a high five patted me on the back and one person asked what I wanted to do while I was there and what I wanted to see and I said I really want to meet your Ganja Farmer and the guy said you're looking at him. They saw my medal of Virgin Mary on my neck and he said Mama Mary is going to protect you man Even though as far as I know the Rastafarians don't believe in her like Catholics do it was just really awesome that he said that. The person that made the ganja asked if I wanted some and I said yes but I can't smoke it I can eat it. I thought it was only good to give me a very small amount but he gave me a decent amount to get me by for the whole trip even for when we leave the Rastafarian village. He told me that they pray when they use ganja and he said it can really help and hence the experience. So I tried it well kneeling down in Catholic prayer and he wasn't kidding. I guess a couple people could tell that I had some of their ganja and they asked if I liked it and of course I said yes. Every time when it was a meal whether it be breakfast lunch or dinner when everyone would come get food even though my cousin and I already had some food and even though we were full a couple of people would always come up to me and give me a bunch of food and they would do the same for my cousin. I loved that community's hospitality and I would love to go back. When I left the same lady that greeted me gave me a hemp necklace with the Star of David on it and the person that makes the ganja gave me some extra ganja for the rest of my trip. The community members told me and my cousin that we can come back anytime we want to.

Drew's videos from around the world just make me realize more how we are all so similar in many things, inspite of growing and thriving in different communities thousands of miles apart. That chicken curry cooked by the man beside the road looked so similar to how we Indians, especially Bengalis cook chicken curry. Perhaps we use a bit more oil and there maybe some difference in the spice ingredients, but it looked EXACTLY the same to the chicken curry my mother makes on Sundays. And I bet it'll taste as delicious as my Mom's. We are all the same 💞

I'm 60, and it didn't dawn on me until I hit 40 that we are all similar. As the years go by, I realize we are exactly the same, and all deserve to have the basics in life. If our governments would simply get along, the money spent on military expansion could feed, and house those without the basics. 👍✌💚
