The first step in a 48 Triangle pysanky pattern is to draw the pattern onto this egg. There are several ways this can be done. In this video I demonstrate how to divide the egg into 8 sections, then 24 and ultimately 48 triangles.
@@prayerfularts oh thank you Crystal! you know i am literally just starting out - eg i'm waiting to receive my kistkas and dyes via Etsy! I am a graphic designer by trade but i have these 'passion projects' on the side. I find the symbolism of this art just beautiful and feels so relevant to whats happening in the world now and this makes me appreciate and respect the Ukrainian culture even more. I tell you one thing tho: getting materials here in Australia is really tricky - eg we don't appear to have anything ... so getting it shipped is massively expensive. However i recently watched a video - you had talked about this artist "Lorrie Popow" and she had a piece on alcohol dyes which i found extremely interesting. However so much to learn before all that and i am only a newbie! But thanks so much for your reply Crystal i will keep watching your videos and learning :)
There's someone in Australia that sells pysanky supplies. I'm in the USA so I don't really know anything about the seller. But the email is pysankyaustralia@gmail.com From what I saw on Facebook it looked like the same supplies I use. But I didn't see any prices.
