During the Stay at home period of the Covid19 Pandemic the 48th Highlanders of Canada Pipes and Drums having continued to practice and meet remotely. Here is a performance of the 44 March composed by Angus McDowell, named for the band - The 48th Highlanders od Canada Pipes and Drums.

Angus MacDowell..... he was my father. RIP dad.😥 he wrote many tunes for the pipes and he was one heck of a piper in his day!

This is fantastic guys... I know Angus would be chuffed. He used to sing this and his other tunes to me over coffee at a cafe in Westmount.

Is this the 48th “Slow March”? My grandfather served with the 48th in WWI.

No this is the Pipe Band quick march. Equal to a company march.

@@48thhighlanderspipesanddru35 Thanks for the quick reply. I should add that my grandfather was with the 15 Battalion. He was gassed in France, and I believe he received some type of compensation from the Canadian government for the rest of his life as a consequence.
