You can't explain how Scotland the Brave makes you feel, but you know it immediately. It goes right through you, making you rise up after getting knocked down again and again. - a US citizen.
I am from the U.S. as well, I was going to post the same advice. Scotland kicks ass!!! Keep at it, Scotland, you get a lot of love over here... I mean a LOT!!!
Hello Thomas - I count it as a highlight in my life that I spent some time (too short) in Malta seven years ago. Went everywhere, met people, in a low- key sort of way, ate the local fare, saw everything, I was in heaven. I had wanted to go to Malta forever, and I was not disappointed in any way. Your country still calls to me. Its history is more, just more, in all ways than any other. I am proud to be an American, but Malta does call to me.
As an Englishman, you cannot deny Scottish pipes, bands are truly something and always puts a lump in the throat, hairs stand up on my arms. We have our banter, history, modern day we have to unite, more than ever before
I'm English married to a Scottish lassie for 40+ years and I never tire of hearing the pipes and drums. Mind you I've loved them since before I met her so now I have a double reason to live Scotland
Aye, my longest most serious gf was Scottish and I'm 6'4", with a big red beard, and I wear a Great Kilt in the woods, it's amazing to be able to wear something that doubles as clothes and a blanket, and doesn't restrict the movement with yer "boys" great for loping through the glens haha, I'm in Antrim, but they lured me in with redheads and whiskey lol
As an America We need to protect ours. And yes, I love our Western European Ancestors traditions and influence of orderly... And we all have to protect Free Real Speech.
@@tommas2674 Please stop trying to force conservative American nationalism onto other countries' cultural heritage. We don't need you yapping about "muh free speech!!!", this has nothing to do with that.
@@jazzycat8917 Nationalism=love of countries founding principles without Western Christian civilized Europeans tribal/tribal minded would still be in huts, and killing women n small men to lol weather earth event gods, their tribal minded "leaders," around the globe, for their laughs n giggles, cackles, now they just push that crap to take from Citizens around the globe.
Yeah, they do that --- it's a regular set with them. Welp, guess I should master _The Black Bear,_ which has a rather difficult phrase in the middle of it, if ever I want to run with the big guys.
When I hear the Black Bear being played it reminds me of listening to my Pipe Major playing it so many years ago now. RIP Jim, I'll never ever forget you.
We Americans of the eastern highlands of the country where many Scottish people immigrated, thank you for all the Scottish traditions you brought to our country! God Bless you. I learned fried chicken came from your Scottish culture. Thank you! I hope before my life ends I get to visit Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain! You are on my bucket list! Love you all! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Fried chicken didn't come from Scottish culture. Stovies, mince and tatties, potato scones, Haggis, Black Pudding, Fruit Pudding, Scottish pies, Scotch Broth, Clootie Dumpling and so much more are what I remember from my childhood in Scotland. I do hope you get the chance to visit x
All though I didn't finish all my training Scotland the Brave helped me survive a 50 mile force Mach in 102 heat in Louisiana 1974. I do have an Honorable Discharge.
My late father served for the kings army as a captain. He was selected to call the marching regiment to order. I hear him” by the left! Quick march!” My hero, I’m 68 yrs this month. Looking forward to seeing you again Dad.❤
I’m an American out of California and I was first introduced to Scotland the Brave and the sound of pipes and drums with the film, the Devil’s Brigade when I was about 5 years old. I’ve never forgotten that iconic scene when the polished Canadians march to join a group of American roughnecks to form the First Special Service Force. To this day, I am moved by the sound of pipe and drums and Scotland the Brave and Black Bear are my go-tos when I need a little inspiration and a 🔥 under my ass. I’m less than 1/16th Scottish decent, but damn, my heart would believe otherwise when it hears those pipes.
Brought tears to my eyes. English but love Scotland - my late husband was Scottish. Long live Scotland, the bag pipes and the Edinburgh tattoo. Wonderful tradition
I am not a Scot myself. I have been a Canadian citizen for half my life but at the sound of pipes I would not fear death in battle or elsewhere. So long live SCOTLAND THE BRAVE!!!
@@TrevorPickford. Scotlands highest immigration to Scotland is English and Irish Protestants is that a wee clue. Our large Polish population along with Italian and Portuguese were told “ vote independence and you will be deported as Scotland will be outside the EU . Our pensioners were told they would lose their pension , lie after lie after lie. The propaganda pumped out by the London MSM is beyond anything Putin or North Korea could even have wished for.
@@TrevorPickford Ruled by england? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you don't even rule yourselves m8, another wee englishman obsessed we SCOTLAND, I love it, even bangin on about a referendum that happened in 2014, HILARIOUS, GET IN THERE BONNIE SCOTLAND 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
I'm an American of English ancestry but honest to God anyone who watches this and their soul isn't stirred should seek Medical help. God Bless the great people of Scotland we consider ourselves very fortunate to have spent 3 weeks last fall there.
I’m Canadian but so proud of my great great grandfather Jamie Fraser, to coming to a small town in Canada and opening a men’s store of suits and kilts for his Scottish ties that came to Canada. The store in Renfrew Canada was opened for many many years ago because he was a suit maker. Thank you Jamie/James Fraser for bring up some Scottish family members.
New Yorker here - I was only half-paying attention, waiting for the music to begin, then saw US Navy uniforms. THAT got my attention... What? Us Yanks here? Awesome ! Funny how we've fought against the Brits twice, with them more times than we can count, and they're still some of our best friends.... One of my best personal friends is a transplanted Brit. Love how we're not actually part of the UK, but we're all mixed right in anyway.
I’m from New Zealand and my Grandparents migrated there many many moons ago. Grew up with listening to the bagpipes, and Nana’s accent. Long long gone but not forgotten.
I am American born of mostly Irish and Scottish heritage. I always love hearing the pipes but , to see American military members ( and other countries) marching along side was something to behold. :-)
I was visiting Scotland in 2004 and went to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. It was cold and raining, but while the Tattoo was on all I noticed was the wonderful performance.
South African living in NZ here. The bagpipes brings back so many memories of my childhood . on Saturday mornings they would have them play in KC shopping mall and i would march behind them from ine side of the mall to the other. now i cared for a Scottish gentleman and just have greater love for the Scottish. God bless Scotland ♥️😊🇫🇮
In the Netherlands they like the bag pipes performing at the remembrance services for the fallen (especially WW2). My mom explained she had experienced them honouring the resistance in our province of Drenthe. Liberated by the Canadians, French and Polish. Lest we forget
You mean, you should give thanks for the freedom you now enjoy because Great Britain endured and refused to surrender to the Nazi horde your country so readily surrendered to. p.s Apart from Ukraine, the Netherland's had the 2nd biggest non German Waffen SS brigades during WW2. You forgot to mention that part.
I'm a US citizen with Scottish ancestry. Absolutely love the marching, the bagpipes, and the drums. We have a bapipes/drum group for firemen here in Oregon out of Bend. Love them!
I like to think there’s a little Scot in all of us I’m basically a quarter Polish and don’t really know much more about my heritage besides, but I’m American through and through and this This calls to me too choom, gets me hyped
I'm a middle-aged+ woman, french Canadian ... and I feel the same as you. Can't explained it in a rational manner ! I know I have English, Irish ancestry, as well as from the British Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey. I have yet to find evidence of Scottish heritage, but damned, it must be there in my blood ;)
I'm a Yank, with some Scot ancestry on my Mother's side, A lot of Americans don't care for the pipes, but a well-played bagpipe is one of the most stirring sounds in the world.
I am a New Zealander with family heritage from Scotland. Visiting my roots made me proud to have that DNA. Just hearing the skirl if the pipes gives me goosebumps.
Growing up in Utah, USA, most parades had at least one pipe and drum band because of our strong shared heritage with Scotland. This was next level, but brought back good memories of that.
Just got home last night from a 17 day trip to Scotland and was very fortunate to be able to see the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, probably the most memorable part of the trip. And, it didn’t rain! Love Scotland and the Scottish people. I would go back in a heartbeat.
THIS proud US Army brat STANDS w Scotland! May my amazing US of A NEVER fail to come to the aid of our Scottish and Irish brethren. Scotland FOREVER!!!
My wife and I had the honor of seeing the Tattoo in person last week. What an amazing sound and show! Well done to all the performers and to the festival staff!
Actually, Switzerland scores a lot higher on education, economy, trust in politicians, healthcare, etc, but I have to admit that the pipes and drums beat the alpine horn every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
@@James-yl1ox I hate to admit it but there is almost nothing Swiss anymore about Toblerone. It is owned by the American conglomerate Mondelez and the production has almost completely moved to Bratislava so the packaging lost the “made in Switzerland” label. Sic transit Gloria Mundi. :))
I’m from the US. We had the honor of seeing the Tattoo in 1992. So awe inspiring! We don’t recall the US bands being a part of the ceremony, but maybe that’s because we’re old. 😊 Would love to go back to Scotland to visit our friends there and see the Tattoo once again. 💙🏴💙
I’m English and everytime I hear Scotland the brave I get so emotional to the point I can’t explain how or what to even feel, hearing Scotland the brave makes me feel courageous and proud of Scotland so I suppose I may of definitely been Scottish In my past life! Love you Scotland 🏴🏴❤️
What a truly brilliant and beautiful song!! ❤ I'm an American but WOW!! That is just so freaking awesome and beautiful!! Much Respect and Love for Scotland!!!
If that doesn't get your heart strings going nothing ever will.. It Makes your hairs stand up 😂😂 That was just an awesome sight to see and hear👍👍❤️❤️ Scottish for life, Scottish forever.. Peace and love to you all.. One world = One nation.. I won't see the world live as one in my lifetime but I hope that we can join together and make it happen one day.. J xxx ❤
So glad to see the members of The Citadel Band Company and the Pipe and Drum Corps. The Citadel Military College of South Carolina always brings the best. Well done. GO DAWGS!!!
