This guys numbers don't tell the whole story, he's an absolute monster when you watch film on him. It's no fluke he's this high on the list over the other 2 rookies. #1 rated 4-3 olb last yr and don't forget the players make this list up.
Khalil Mack was without a doubt one of the best defensive rookies in the game. The impact he had on the game without a solid team was just amazing to witness. People here think stats and the name one carries matters. That isnt the case when evaluating how good and dominant a player is. I mean even players from other teams and coaches would talk about Mack. Goes to show how much he did. This year, he is out of his mind.
+Juan Carlos Lopez Every position is okay except our CB's. Geez, they are horrible. We'll stop the run well this year, but I do not have faith in DJ and TJ. Well, TJ is coming up.. DJ was just a waste of a 1st rounder.
FINALLY A player on the list who Deserves his Spot. Top 50 even. AND YES there are players with better career numbers above him but "This isn't a list for careers. It's made on a year by year basis." And they played in different pos. And had better players around them. Mack is a one man wrecking ball. There's no dominant duo on the Raiders defense And Mack faces the Best offensive team(s) in the NFL and is still a Machine:D

Khalil is so raw only playing one year of high school football and playing at Buffalo where the competition wasn't always that great,to come in the NFL playing top talent evey week and competing at a very high level he hasn't even scratched his potential sky's the limit. At his pro day he ran a 4.53 and at the combine he had 40 inch vertical the kid is a monster. Top 5 olb imo 1.von miller 2.justin Houston 3.khalil Mack 4 lavonte David 5 . Jamie Collins
Now that he's all pro 1st team in 2 positions (CRAZY), I wonder if madden 17 is gonna put his default position as OLB or DE? His madden ratings should also be top 3 in those 2 positions.

Okay MOST of you haters never played football at a HIGH level so that being said you wouldn't know that defense isn't all about sacks. It is a very beneficial thing, but there is more to that. Mack was all over the field and did make teams worry about him. This top 100 is also made up of players in the NFL so he obviously got the respect of his opponents and his presence was know on the field. Mack got even bigger this off season and I'm sure he will get more sacks then 4. Go Raiders! MACK ATTACK 52!

The only reason you are saying that is because he is a Raider. It's true about them putting him on there, but you forget they put AP on there and he didn't even play last year.

Peyton also made it on the Top 100 the year he sat out...that just tells you how great they really are. Also I'm one of the most honest fans there is out here, regardless if it's my team or not...you think I was out here talking about "Cmon Raiders we're going to the SB this year, this is our year" when I clearly know that we've been a laughing stock of a team since like 2001. We're finally getting back on track and our players are now being rewarded for it, so yes I'm happy for them.

Clearly Mack earned the respect of his piers enough for them to rank him 49th.. Weather u agree or not is their ranking and they thought highly enough of the kid to rank him that high..
I still don't understand why the rams didn't draft Mack and Donald together last year would have had one of the best front 7 in the entire league. They could of look for offensive line help later on in the draft and/or free agency.
not saying mack doesnt deserve this ranking but if he is this high than Mosley should be top 50 as well. 133 tackles (led team), 3 sacks, 2 ints (led team), 1 forced fumble (tied for second on team), 8 passes defended (second on team) pro bowl invite as a rookie (first raven rookie to do so even with guys like suggs, lewis, boulware, reed, ngata and many more)... he did all of this while playing half the season with one hand.... mack had 76 tackles (fourth on team), 4 sacks (second on team), 1 forced fumble (tied for second on team), 3 passes defended (fifth on team)... i know stats dont mean everything but Mosley had more of an impact for his team and the ravens had a top 10 defense (would have been much higher if the secondary wasnt decimated) and 4th ranked rush d wich mosley played a huge part in... the raiders were at the bottom in total d and rush d which means their d in total wasnt very good and mack only led the team in two stats (qb hurries and hits which are important but do not have the impact other stats have).... based on these facts i dont understand how mack is 30 spots higher than Mosley... both are excellent players and have bright futures and certainly deserve to be on the list but i dont think one should have been rated that much higher than the other
A MLB is suppose to have more tackles and Picks, lol. A MLB is on the field every formation, Dime, Nickle, 3-4/4-3, 5-2, I dont see an OLB in a Dime, also most teams run up the gut, and you know whose there? The MLB. Russian Acer if u watched the video you would know that mack didnt play OLB in sub packages like dime, nickle and other formations.... also I know MLB's are supposed to have more tackles and stuff but OLB are supposed to have more sacks and mack only had one more.... also i am not taking away anything from mack all im saying is that if mack is top 50 mosley should be too

So, 59 tackles and 4 sacks plus he's a rookie get you no. 49? Clay Mathews, Demarcus Ware, Lavonte David, Connor Barwin, Terrell Suggs are better and have way better sack/tackle ratio. What am I missing?
paul c Don't judge Mack from his stats. Watch a couple of his games and youll see him shedding blocks, getting past double teams, batting down balls. Mack was the #1 ranked 4-3 linebacker.

I have them ranked as 1) Aaron Donald 2) CJ Mosely and 3) Mack based on what they did last year. Mack started off slow, but finished the season strong. The knock on him was adjusting to pro level talent. At 6'3 250lbs and running a 4.6 40 he has all the talent to be a dominant player this upcoming season.

He should be 70 spots ahead of him honestly. Mosely is no where near Mack. If Mack was on the same team as Haloti Ngata boy oh boy. He would have put up unbelievable numbers. Mack carried that defense. Mosely had tons of help by other top notch players

Thats EXACTLY why he didn't win Rookie DPOY award because ppl look for splash plays. Its sorta like Tim Duncan. Just cuz he doesn't run as fast an jump as hi, doesn't mean he caint b as effective. Just because he didn't have 15 sacks an 100 tackles doesn't mean he wasn't just as or even more effective then the players that had the splash plays. Aaron Donald is clearly the better Defensive Rookie, and if you disagree go watch the Raider @ Rams game and see who had a bigger impact. And just because the players voted on it doesn't mean it is accurate. A lot of the time the players are asked to vote on people they never played against so they are pretty much forced to by into hype. The only reason he is higher that AD is because of where he was drafted, being that high of a Draft pick forces eyes on you.
So to compare the to players you wan to go look back at ONE game. Smh u foo. Mack carried this defense as a ROOKIE. Aaron Donald was surrounded by so much talent on that line, he didn't have NEARLY the type of weekly pressure on his shoulders like Mack did. Khalil has 9 sacks, AD has 8. Khalil has 53 total tackles, AD has 54. It's hard to say one is doing better than the other but Khalil is at a more premium position, DE/OLB, and that's why people would take him over Donald
People saying he only had 4 sacks....obviously don't know shit about football. He his always in the qbs face forcing a bad pass and creating turnovers. I'd take a int over a sack any fucking day. He never quits always 100% effort on every play. You look at clowney he just uses speed, when he gets blocked he is out of the play. Mack pushes the linemen back wards (btw most dts can't do and this dude is 80lbs lighter) which will create negative plays. People double team him which will open up other players to create plays.
Hank Hill Actually Houston and Watt had the same amount of sacks. Plus Watt played the Jags and Titans twice a year and Houston played the Chargers third string o-line in Week 17
So your saying sacks are the only thing that matter with linebackers? Because NOTHING else matters... (Interceptions, pressure, tackles, man coverage, zone coverage, multiple positions, forced fumbles, deflects, confidence...)
King_Cook Ur kind of proving my point,he is over rated off what he did,his potential is this for the next few seasons but a guy that wasn't greatly productive stat wise.Also he didn't win DROY but is 40 spots higher.Not much logic.I think Clay Matthews is a little over rated on the list but a player of his calibur should not be lower than Mack.He is near Suggs and Mario Williams,over Wagner,Peppers,Hughes,etc.95 is an OK spot for him,around Mosley.I would of put Mosley over him.

+Amazing Renegade Clowney did his work against future NFL linemen though. Mack's school just wasn't in a tough conference, I remember reading a lot of analysis on him and sadly many scouts took that into strong consideration

Bernard Deocampo Actually is far better than Aaron Donald. The guy does everything and is very consistent. Sacks is just one part of being a great defensive player buddy.
Mack is a linebacker he mostly was on the line the whole season and Aaron Donald plays DT which is a harder position then linebacker,for a DT you normally get double teamed and don't get a lot of tackles and sacks but Aaron Donald did well for a rookie DT.
Chris Ames rams already have other threats on the dline .. that's the only reason why he was able to get open for many sacks .. other guys like Quinn getting doubled while mack was the one getting double teamed .. Donald is good don't get me wrong but mack is a freak of nature
SamoanRaider I hope you realize there isn't such a thing in getting open for a defensive end or tackle. its the way getting past your block. Also our other threats barely had a sack during the first half of the season and Donald managed to get past them easier compared to our veterans

I remember when this dude got drafted everybody said he was gonna be the next Von Miller..LMAO Von Miller's Rookie season= 11.5 Sacks and he played half the season with a cast/club on his hand.💯 Khalil Mack's Rookie season = 4 sacks Shane Ray will have more than 4 sacks this season guaranteed..& as a backup.💯
Its not all about sacks man. I'd take Khalil over von any day. His run defense is outstanding. 51 qb hurries and 25 qb hits. The sacks will come. Don't forget he was double teamed most of the time.
