Having being declared a failure with a hot box at Carlisle, GWR Castle No. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' was ruled out of action for the upcoming 'Welsh Marches' tour, with GWR Hall No. 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall' taking the reigns - giving the 4-6-0 another chance to tackle the climb of Llanvihangel. The 'Hall' would take the train from Tyseley to Hereford, via Gloucester and South Wales on the outward, before dashing back via Ludlow - the same itinerary as the first trip back in August.
This short video captures the Hall roaring through Abergavenny, situated at the foot of Llanvihangel, with the station still retaining its array of semaphore signalling.
