For people that live in the Central America area and east coast. Get a wet bag for your filter. Helps with the deep puddles when you accidentally hit them and submerge your front end for about a second. Without one you risk hydrolocking the engine.
Shoulda showed full video, like taking the original air box off and installing this one and etc... at least you did a good job explaining what you done and needs to be done, but woulda been helpful to actually see you take it all off and install new one etc.. cuz we all know verbally what you did and mean but physically we all still gotta struggle to do it
Glad I found this I was confused about which I take to get and if I need the one with the third insert I have to 06 GS sunset automatic model, and I order the one with only one insert to the engine, and I see two, thought I got the wrong one but I guess it will still work
Iv'e got a 2006 Eclipse (4 banger) as a first car, and it's bone stock. Would the cai give me noticeable gains? Also, with two of the resonators gone, how did it change the sound of the car? Is it louder or just different? Great video btw.
Brave_SirRobin Thank you. Realistically you're not going to feel a huge difference in terms if power. That can be said with most cold air intakes and modern cars. the throttle feels a little more responsive though. As far as sound, it sounds so much better. Once the stock intake is removed, you can hear mivec actuate at 4k rpm. It sounds awesome on cam through redline. It's a good bit louder. I didn't really notice too much difference deleting the intake resonator box that sat above the valve cover. It sounded maybe a tad bit louder. It sounds awesome with an intake though. I would look at getting the DC Sports intake like I have. It's 140 shipped within the US 48 at Summit Racing. Well worth the money and considerably cheaper than the other intakes.
Well, I've been dicking around on the forums, and I never really found an end all be all solution to this. Is there somewhere I can get a step by step process to do this? I'm really looking to raise the rev limiter a bit.
I just installed this sucker into my vehicle but the throttle is bottoming out / loss of acceleration. Any ideas why? I installed everything including the vacuum seal.
D Angelini Same way, just less clearance with the flight housing and wires back there. You might have to play with it a little bit to fit, or you may be good
So do you have to remove the tire and back plastic to change the air filter every time? Does it actually make a difference in performance or is it just for looks?
illinbeat It's from DNA motoring off eBay. There are better ones, such as the Tanabe. These aren't halo headlights, they're stock headlight housings that are painted black on the inside. So as far as brightness, about the same.
Lourdes C Not too bad, but kind of a pain. It's recommended you remove the whole front bumper but I just removed the bolts from one side at a time. Remove all the bolts around the bumper to loosen the bumper and there's like 3 bolts total to remove.
i tried a cold air intake on my 06 eclipse and it ran like shit no throtle response semed like it had a vacume leak put it back to stock runs like brand new
