To add on, if they are bought in to the crew they get paid out at the end of the week by the crew treasurer in clean cash based on how much rolled cash they return from bags sold. If they arent bought in, the treasurer pays out their contact (Usually Speedy or Vito) and the contact keeps track of how much they sell and pays them/Reups them. Non bought in members can get a worse deal than bought in members sometimes because the deal is between the crew contact and the seller. For example, Speedy will give different deals to people sometimes based on how much he trusts them. The sellers themselves don't normally have to buy any bags up front either way, they just get paid out for the work they put in and the crew owns the bags and takes all the dirty cash from the sale then cleans it all.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that Cypress crew members don't pay weekly dues like some other crews. As the crew takes a cut of their dirty cash earnings instead. So that's another reason the crew cut is large.

Honestly, thats the way Besties' operation should have been run. Gangs are not companies so its crazy that people were trying to operate them like companies. Just like the officers in the PD, criminals have no use for stacking money unless they are apart of a street racing crew. Gang members can easily share housing, if anything it is preferred so they see eachother frequently. Since they are criminals, using personal cars for crime is not ideal, so the gang simply has to make sure that they are always making lockpicks for gang members to take for free. The Besties could have actually focused on ya know, being Best friends like their name suggests, instead of everyone immediately becoming selfish and arguing about people stealing money when weed became more profitable. Besties would have made more money for the gang with just like 5 gang members selling weed and giving the majority of that money back to the gang, than what they made from taking a tiny percentage of such a large amount of weed that they needed to expand their operations or run their grow house for 14hours a day just to supply it all. Based on how the weed stuff was setup, I'm pretty sure the devs assumed that the money would be mostly going into the pockets of the gang funds, since ya know, thats basically how weed selling works in real life. Just like in No Pixel, its not particularly easy to use/clean cash especially since the government is going to be wondering why you are buying very expensive things and paying no income tax. Selling weed is mostly just something people do for easy pocket money, or to fund their own personal use of weed. Instead because the gangs handled weed sales so poorly the sellers were basically working the criminal version of G6 and becoming instant millionaires. So you ended up seeing everyone grinding weed, buying all the things they wanted to buy and then burning out. Its not really a surprise that a lot of people have been losing their motivation to wake up in the city because they don't have anything they want to work towards game.

Exactly, it's more of a personality check, would you be willing to make these types of sacrifices, because if not we don't trust you anyway, and if you are we will give you something more important to do

Not to mention a lot of the sellers, especially who are bought in also see it as contributing to the crew since the crew also takes a cut and uses it to buy things like buildings and supplies. The crew only lets in people who want to contribute to something more than just themselves. The high prices weed out the selfish people like Sneaky anyway.
