Sunset and sunrise in the middle of the day as the total eclipse turned day into night and then back into day again. The temperature dropped, the diamond ring appeared, the birds started singing their goodnight songs, and the planets became visible. What a beautiful sight it was. If you ever wonder if it is worth traveling to see totality - 100% yes it is. 95-99% eclipse is cool but 100% is awe-inspiring and magical. There is no way any picture or video can do it justice because the very air around you changes. There is an odd pause like the world is deciding what happens next. Then the sounds change as the critters all begin their nighttime routines.
