Imagine sleeping only to be awoken by tornado sirens at 2-AM and then your phone's EAS alert telling you to evacuate due to a levee failure.
Well, that happened - a life-threatening flash flood emergency for the city of Rock Valley, Iowa was issued activating tornado sirens around 2-3 AM due to a levee breach failure on June 22, 2024
As a result, a Disaster Proclamation for Sioux County and all available state resources directed to assist Rock Valley and other communities in northwest Iowa in response to this catastrophic flooding.
