Episode 18: Changing the rear wheel bearings on a 2012 toyota highlander. This one goes pretty smooth. My friend that owns the vehicle went into the dealership to get a slight noise fixed ( from the rear wheel bearings ) and they quoted her $17,000 dollars to fix it. They listed that it needed new rear wheel bearings, engine work and a whole new transmission. There are no codes on the vehicle and the transmission shifts flawlessly.

Not yet. I like to help people chip away at the problems. The from bearings will probably need to be replaced soon but the rears were the the biggest issue. Just making terrible noise. With that fixed she seems happy with the rest of the vehicle so no need to replace anything else now. The dealer originally quoted like 3k for the rear bearings. And for some reason was trying to sell her a transmission for 14k as well. Even though there are no check engine lights or any indication of an issue with the transmission at all.
