Indeed. Shane has some great mentors and role models in his life. Pat is one cool man. He too will one day leave a massive legacy in music, for us all to enjoy over and over.
I love how the entire band followed the kids lead. Watching him and feeding off him. Him giving them cues. This is amazing. No other way to say it really.
Fuck man…. You can feel that energy from that fist snare hit. I can’t imagine how emotional and special that moment was for his kid. Taylor meant so much to every drummer out there. To me, Taylor was the iconic drummer look. The long hair, high stick raises, thunderous hits, and always fucking smiling. Thank you Taylor
Yeah! All the love & support for Shane is priceless & he’s on his way to greatness. Those are some great drummer genes & Taylor would be so proud to see him hold his own in front of that many people🤘🏼
I was going to say the same thing. The way Pat just watches and smiles. But damn Nate stands there the whole time looking back just to make sure they are in the groove together. Such a family group all looking out for him
Right tho?? I also love how his mumma is right behind watching and singing along! Like a mama bear, letting her cub do his thing but always watchful. Also the banter w. hand gestures between Shane and Dave at the beginning....can the Foo Fighters family collective just adopt me already?!
Pat and Nate looking on like proud dads with big ass smiles beaming across their faces! Just as Taylor would be from above, and just as I am watching him and watching them watching over him!
No, you can count on the boys to make sure he does, but at the same time that it's what he does with that awesome - his very own awesome - that's important.
Shane doesn't need to take his dad's place because hes gonna make his own place. I'd hate to see him stay and watch the Foo Fighters play for the last 6 or 7 years and they're still gonna play. Much rather see him join up with some young extremely talented players his own age and make new music that matters
Pat and Nate looking on like proud dads with big ass smiles beaming across their faces! Just as Taylor would be from above, and just as I am watching him and watching them watching over him!
I just love the look the guys give him before he starts I’ll stick around. It’s a bunch of proud uncles saying “go get em kid”. Brilliant tribute to his dad. He would be super proud.
The way Pat and Nate "Stuck around" was lovely and awesome both encouraging Shane through the whole thing. Just very wholesome. Shane is a fucking good drummer too.
This is such a beautiful thing to watch, the love the guys have for Shane is so apparent. I know the entire foo family is so very proud of this kid!! I feel proud and I don't know him. Can't wait to see what's next for him, great things I'm sure.
Such a beautiful tribute to his dad, I just don't have words. You can tell he has his daddy's talent. And his dad is smiling down from Heaven. RIP Taylor Hawkins. God Bless Dave and the Foo Fighters. 💜
He did a blindingly great job, to go from one to the other with such speed, power and precision at young age, good on him, you should be proud damn sure your dad would be 🤘👍
Seeing how elated Dave and Pat were to see Shane smack those skins so hard, as hard as his Dad did! Beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing Shane succeed in his band, or even being a part of the Foos when he is older. Stunningly sad and powerfully strong footage of a young boy mourning his papa, inheriting his amazing skills, whilst having his uncles love and support him through it all.
What a brave kid, and lucky also to have all Foo Fighters looking after him. It's such a hard one to swallow, Taylor must have left a massive void. Much love and grace.
I hadn't seen this view from behind, and it's even more awesome!! Seeing the pride on the FF's faces made me cry even harder than when I saw the video from the front!! ❤😭
Whatever Shane wants to do will be done. I lost both parents very young, and I know if I had a parent who showed me a talent that we shared, I would want to uphold that talent we shared , and show all my skills for myself and for my parent to see looking over me. God bless him, I understand his heartache, and this is a good way to let it out, tearing those drums up! Yes, SHANE!!!
I like many other people who have watched this performance over and over am absolutely blown away by Shane’s energy and talent! But most of all the family strong 💪 Foo Fighters! Go Shane make your way but you’re already a Rock Star!!
This is filled with so much emotion, 😍 and I love the way Nate is communicating with Shane throughout the set with his eyes and mimics - I know nothing can replace his dad for him. But he's got four great guys who'll be part of his life in a great way going forward.
Thank you for this, great quality until we get the official MTV video. Interesting to see from this angle, too. Shane is amazing, looking forward to following his career
This must be prior to post production vocal tuning. Dave's voice is hurting and off pitch. All other videos the vocals are killing it, just like Shane.
@@michaelcheney1555 Yeah, Dave's voice sounds pretty beaten down. First losing Taylor, then his mom, who was his best friend, then all the work putting 2 huge shows togethers, rehearsals, probably not sleeping much, he must just be totally tapped out. HIs voice sounded better in London, guess everything is taking its toll.
One cool thing with the band having an unruly, passionate young drummer with them is that they actually have to be on their toes, never knowing what to expect. And it sounds pretty cool and aggressive. As a drummer for the last 20 years I have to say this kid is awesome. With a few years more experience and guidance, he will definitely be a next Grohl or Hawking. And he hits HARD :D
The way nate plays along with Shane anyone who plays in a band knows it’s the drummer and bassist that play off each other’s signals…this was truly beautiful to watch 🥹🥰 this boy man I think he is gonna be an even bigger star than his dad 😝 legend xx
What a very talented kid this is ! Wow ! Hopefully he'll stick around the Foo's. My prayers are with this kid & band to stay out of all the bad of this industry and keep giving the good to all fans. This is like Prince ( R.I.P.) would say " Real Music by Real Musicians" .. You guys are so great & bringing huge difference is a lot of people;s live by performing and writing this kind of music.
Kind of a cool sight to see a bit of fire in the blood. How often do they play “I’ll stick around” anymore? Here comes Shane, not as polished not as tenured and brings a ferocity and energy
So awesome! Wish Shane was old enough to take over the reigns full time. He's got a bright future in music if that's the path the chooses to follow that's for sure.
Taylor still giving to his fans from heaven. Can’t think of a bigger gift than his progeny upholding his legacy. May the good lord bless this young man and protect him from the evils in the industry and May it be gods will that he have a long prosperous career whether he drums with the Foos or whichever band he drums with.
Seriously you’re bringing religion into it, not appropriate save the preaching for church. Every village need its idiot to try and stand out from the rest.
É algo surreal. Como explicar um fenômeno desses? O menino é propriamente o pai dele. Que maravilha da natureza. Eu chorei muito, chorei de emoção, chorei de saudades, chorei de alegria, chorei de tristeza. Lavei minh'alma assistindo esse vídeo.
he totally nailed ''my hero'' even better than in london.....he did his homeworks, or was it just the nervousness of the first time, he kept the tempo way more solid than in wembley
careful with that here on youtube lol buncha people sent me angry DMs how i was a heartless creature, must've had a depressing childhood,.. cause i pointed out how the band was helping shane calm down when he was playing too fast cause of the pressure he was under. I thought it was very sweet of them taking over a guidance-role, supporting him - but apparently he was born a god and whoever says he's not perfect is a monster lol
I agree. It’s one thing to play along with a record or even a small club on a Tuesday night. His big debut was at a memorial for his dad in front of 90k people with a band he’s relatively new to.
@@BassKittehz Yes, it is a blurred line mentioning that. Because it was a tribute to his father. His father who had just passed away. Performing in front of a crowd size that most of us couldn't fathom. The nerves, emotion and probably the surreal feeling it was being in your dad's chair, hitting those skins like he so famously did. Of course there is room for him to get off rhythm. For good reason. I mean look at Dave in the same concert, he broke down a couple times and couldn't sing the lyrics in key. No one said at Daves next concert "wow, Dave went he whole set without breaking down". Seeing all of Shane's drumming videos, he was clearly nervous, emotional or a conbination of both. So even if you have good intent, you can see how that could come off to other people. No need to be condescending about it. You make a public statement and you have to expect and accept people are going to interpret their way.
Probably sooner than you think. To be honest, Taylor's drumming wasn't the pinnacle of tech drumming, but a perfect balance of tech, feel and emotion. Shane has proven he can replicate that. The trick is, can Shane be creative in the writing process. I have a feeling that even if he isn't from the start, he has mentors up the wazoo. BUT, he may want to go a different direction entirely, like Wolf Van Halen. Only time will tell, but we can enjoy this moment!
@@jd0879 dude I got hated on for mentioning how shane was nervously, unintentionally tapping the hi hat on the wembley show cause he was so stressed out - like progression is a bad thing. Apparently he was born a genius and anyone who believes he's a kid who's still learning is envious, had a sad childhood,.. idk what's wrong with people lmao
