I expected nothing. Just a racing game. Then...the first 18 seconds...basically a build up to everything. At 0:19 the bass kicks in. There is just a screen with a Senna infront of it. An when she says that she wants to show me I cried man. There is nothing like this. I thought it was just a cutscene with an abrupt ending and a main menu behind it but your're already in the game. Even in the intro you don't feel alone in a big emtpy game world because of the way it shows how "everyone" is going to the festival. When a game can give me the same feeling like going to a real festival it just can be a masterpiece.
I'm glad it's not just me, I had this on game pass on PC and thought "yeah I'll try it" that was 2 days ago and I'm 7 hours in because of this intro. It was so fucking epic. The biggest disappointment is not being able to play it again to show other people the game.
I have always loved the intros. They use the intros to hook you into the game really, I even have very fond memories for the first horizon game. Driving the cover cars in a really badass way just speaks to me (if you know how i feel). Driving the senna for the first time in this game is something i will never forget.
Andrei Danilov Regan McCarthy bruh not saying FH2 is worst but holy shit has the gameplay come a long way. Also I like how in FH2 intro the cars took a while to go 150 but now the cover cars go like 180 easy
I love when games do that. When its not a loading screen or jump cut to the gameplay, but instead the cutscene seamlessly transitions into gameplay. The intro of spiderman ps4 did this beautifully too.
@@DitsyMe Oh yeah. That feeling you get where your racing everyone to the new festival everyone is getting there in any car it's just an awesome feeling you racing anyone and anything to the festival
I played it for the first time never was into racing games but I started playing one on my phone called "real racing 3" and was having fun on that. and thought man i should play a racing game on console and got forza horizon free and my God that into was sooooooo bad ass
It's been 4 years and I still can not get over how flawless this intro is. I know the first time I played this I was laden with perpetual goosebumps; just completely enthralled throughout. Every time I watch this now, I am brought to the verge of tears, and the more I've cogitated it, the more I've realized that this has firmed up as the absolute greatest intro to any game I've experienced ever, bar none; I literally can't even think of a game that is remotely close. I came into this game expecting a great intro given Forza's track record, but it outstripped my expectations a hundredfold. The other Horizon titles have good intros, but I've never been fixated on them the same way I have been with FH4. The visuals, sounds, and the beautiful intro drumming up hype resonate with the aesthete in me on a spiritual level, lol. My favorite bits are definitely the outset and the transition from winter to spring; the way it shifts to a fleeting moment of peaceful clarity accompanied by the gorgeous scenery and heavenly vocals which segue into the refrain of "giving me everything I need to let go" is beyond perfect-which, by the way, if that isn't the perfect motto to encapsulate the entire atmosphere of Forza as a whole, I don't know what is. Fred V & Grafix's "Sunrise" complements the intro on a level so paramount that I can't even begin to imagine it without it; the way in which they so tangibly portray the seasons is entrancing and exhilarating. This is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest drum and bass song I've ever heard, and it's not even close. A nine minute magnum opus of drum and bass that manages to paint a vivid picture of the seasons with such fervor; just extraordinary. Really, the amalgamation of everything here just leaves this intro an unparalleled masterpiece.
Literally what I was thinking, man. We'll never get the same masterpiece of an intro with so much soul in it given the direction the devs' taken with FH5.
you read me to perfection, this is exactly how I feel about this intro, it is perfect... and you forget about something...just before this, you get to hear "A moment Apart" opening the intro screen
@@Houswal FH5 intro was amazing, sure FH4 was better (there's a lot more art work to it) but FH5 intro is thrilling, that first descent from the volcano with the full wide vision view is bombastic and incredible. Gamewise, FH5 is better... i just played a couple months ago to FH4 and the differences are too many, FH5 hits just right between sim and arcade, while FH4 was still struggling to keep balance. The complaints i have with FH5 have more to do with secondary stuff like stories, localization and some seasonal stuff
This is one of the most beautiful, exhilarating intros to any game I've ever played. Never thought I'd say that about a racer. It's just so bright and full of optimism - it's also a really clear celebrating of beautiful cars and the stunning British landscape. Absolutely gorgeous stuff.
I dunno, the one from the FH3 still gives me goosebumps every time i watch it. This one is good, but kinda lazy, i wish Keira had at least few more lines up her sleeve at the begginig there :/
This is by far the best introduction to any game I have ever seen. And it's not just presented beautifully, it's also a great demo of the gameplay that is to come. How are they possibly going to top this in Horizon 5?
I come back to rewatch the intro race every few months, it has to be my favorite introduction to pretty much any game I can think of. It would be hard to explain to most people, but something about it gets me legit emotional. Chills every time the "Summer" part of Sunrise kicks in for the end of the race
Did not play this until a couple nights ago. I didn't even play the demo or watch any video on it because I wanted to see if they could top FH3's intro. Well fucking done! It was one of the most incredible intros to a game I've ever played.
I'm never tired of watching this, not even after 100hrs in the game or how many years you can count. This is the best Horizon Intro ever made. Cheers to everyone who played this masterpiece game❤️
I feel stupid for tearing up on this intro lol. Just seeing those hotairs, the bright lights, cheers, the soundtrack... it makes me want to be part of that culture.
When I played this race for the first time, I was literally smiling the whole race like a fangirl, and after I finished it I was like: man they can take my money just for that intro.
“Welcome to Autumn” *engine pops* so beautiful. The autumn intro was amazing. The final stretch of Summer really hit different. Forza has always been a game about having fun and not taking itself too seriously. And all of their opening races show it.
The intro of this game always gets me. I remember after finishing that race, I stared at the pre-order screen for about a minute and immediately purchased the ultimate edition. Did not regret, as this game brought me hundreds of hours of happiness.
Just downloaded this morning with Game Pass on my recently acquired Series S. I’m crying and laughing in joy so much at how visually stunning the game looks, and how great the soundtrack is. And how incredibly welcoming the intro felt. The cutscenes to gameplay transitions are a sight to behold. Ill be playing for a while until most of my other games finish downloading. Just wanted to come here to see the intro again.
summer was the best one, amazing for the finish, the song , jesus it’s amazing, drum and bass has been top tier since 2010, just the whole vibe, brought me to tears man, i’m 19, and remembering playing forza 2 with my big bro before he went to jail and shit. damn, forza you just know how to make awesome intros
This intro was my first ever game on a next gen console. I have had a potato laptop for so long and It was overwhelming for me to control the Senna and I couldn't believe I was actually driving it in stable high fps and gorgeous graphics on my series S. Thanks Xbox you are the best!
6:09 was such a good cut, with the bottom view of the car changing the color of the sky, the jets that fly by overhead, and of course, the hypercars speeding down the road. Beautiful!! :)
One of my favorite quotes from this intro: _"The most incredible hypercars are all here! I can see an Centenario! Ferrari FFX K! And a _*_beautiful_*_ Bugatti Chiron! And is that a Vulcan?! Oh Horizon, you do _*_NOT_*_ want to miss out on watching this!"_
The intro, the music, the breathtaking graphics of everything around you and the driving. In fact, the moment you hit that final straight to the finish line with the McLaren. The final score is a symphony that just concludes it all. "This is one astonishing game"
Just got into the game recently and I've got to admit. I cried. The whole sequence is a masterpiece in world building and tone setting. I get emotional when you can tell pieces of media have had the hearts and souls of everyone involved put in. I get the same feeling when I watch the end of that Top Gear episode celebrating all the British cars. The incredible music, perfectly timed sequences (riding behind those bikes with the colourful smoke really got me) and the gameplay itself is incredible. I only wish I would've gotten into the game at its peak, but I'm glad I finally did at all.
Agreed. I really believe it's the background song and how it flows perfectly with every scene is what gives this intro the emotion that brings some people to tears. I also think that in reality, every Motorsport lover wishes this was a reality. This is me included lol
I had the pleasure of playing this at Gamescom just before it released, me and my friend were just walking around as eager and inexperienced game developer students and we saw there was no line (was a press and trade day). Neither of us were really like "Yeah! Let's go!" and we were going back and forth about playing it or not, but we figured what the heck, why not? Then it started and it was just.. such a great experience, so much fun, such great music, great handling of the cars, gorgeous visuals. We just had a massive grin on our face the entire time, eyes glued to the screen and ears focused on the sounds and all the while the experience constantly changed as you went through the seasons. We both were left with just pure and utter amazement as we went through the exit and were raving about how awesome that was and how glad we were we decided to go play it. In a way, this game speaks "Life" to me, while it's a game about racing, this game feels like so much more than that, moments where you can appreciate the scenery and just sit and listen to the music, then when you're done, you find the longest road and push the car to the absolute limits, blasting your favorite track. To this day I still come back to this intro when I want to relive that moment, that music, that experience, that giant grin, that inspiration and that feeling.
Yaknow what i see, passion, when she says "dont go anywhere, Horizon is here to stay, press to accelerate" my heart was beating as fast as the twin turbo 4.0L v8 in that Mclaren Senna
Forza horizon intros have to be the best racing game intros ever in a racing car game. They are all amazing and so well put together that it makes you feel your actually there racing against the over drivers to become the horizon champion. Nice upload by the way I had fun watching it. BTW I think your a really good driver in fh4 definitely better than me. But all that matters is I try my best. I have the XBOX ONE S 1TB EDITION WITH FORZA HORIZON 4 AND ASSASINS CREED ORIGINS. Thank you for the upload you did an amazing job of capturing the feel and atmosphere of Forza horizon 4.
Watching this feels nostalgic, even though it wasn't that long ago when I left Horizon 4. It's such a beautiful intro, more of a work of art that goes through your emotions with a dynamic flow. I never forgot how beautiful this intro is and even I praise it to this day.
