By far my most favorite airplane from a nostalgia factor. Used to fly these from Fayetteville to Dallas back before the airport moved to Highfill and turned into XNA and everything was converted over to jets. Flew them through rain storms, snow storms, even turbulence so bad that half the cabin was using the barf bag while I played solitaire on the flip down table as a kid.
Same my friend. Only for me it was usually on Northwest Airlink through Memphis. You know, Southern Airways is now running one in Hawaii to and from MKK and LNY. I really want to try to fit that in on one of my Hawaii trips, but right now the timing isn't really working very well.
Damn, that little aircraft is a quick boi. It accelerates so fast and I love it. But that's what you get when you pair 2 powerful engines with a light aircraft
I am doing more airline specific ones. There's still a lot to post that has the old style, but everything that has been filmed recently has been getting new outros.
Hi Traveler. Oh Booo there's no sticker on the fuselage !! Single runway with a turning basin at one end, like Sint Maarten. I've never seen the Cayman's from the air before. Let's tie a rope behind the aircraft and let's do some water skiing !!
Yeah, its very rare to see turboprops that don't have Speed Brakes. Most Turboprops don't need them due to propellers. They use them to slow down the aircraft. I learned that when I found out that the plane I was flying on was a Embraer EMB-120 Mesa Airline from KABQ-KROW did not have one. Very awesome airplane. :)
Fun little side fact. This aircraft here has been well used of its 25 years. It was owned by Mesaba for a long time flying under the Northwest Airlink brand. I flew on some of these Saab's back then into and out of Memphis. No idea if this particular one was ever one of those. Then it flew for Silver Airways before being purchased by Cayman. I've always found it really cool to go back and look at the lives of old aircraft like this. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Such a GORGEOUS place to fly any plane 😊❤ But the leg room isn't very good on the SAAB for a taller person like you and I? I'm 6'1" and when I do fly on the SAAB, I try to take either the pilot or first officers seat! However in my personal experience, neither of the pilots will trade seats with me? Something about only qualified pilots are allowed seated on the flight deck? Too many rules and regulations 😅 As usual, the absolute best quality airline videos anywhere on RU-vid! ❤
😅 huh, that's weird, you'd think they'd love to relieve their responsibilities haha. Yeah, I'm 6' 2" so what you see for me is pretty much exactly what you'd have. Thanks for watching my friend!
