Part two of our Naples walk takes us from the Castel dell'Ovo along Naples' harbour and the deep blue of the Mediterranean, with the looming presence of Vesuvio in the background at all times.
From the port we turn back up into Naples winding streets, passing the Palazzo Reale and Piazza del Plebiscito before reaching the stunningly ornate theatre of San Carlo, a grand opera house built in the 18th century. We then explore the gorgeous shopping gallery of Umberto 1, named for Italy's first king, complete with an intricate glass dome and mosaic floors.
Our walk then takes us to Castel Nuovo, a medieval castle that now houses an impressive art collection before finishing at the Fountain of Neptune, which has had many homes in Naples since it was first installed in the early 1600s but currently can be found in Piazza Municipio.
