As a houndsman myself, I can tell they are good honest houndsmen. Few and far between these days. Now everyone is out for blood. Not the dogs. Hounddoggin is unfortunately a dying sport.
What a runt!! :p Jeezus.. When the cat came blazing down the tree, I thought for a second it got hit and you might have edited it out... Being at the base.. Wow! Regardless.. Excellent shot!!! Friggen monster.. Glad they aren't out hunting all of us in their spare time.. (We'd get rid of them, but boy would it hurt..)
I got to tag along on a few races when I was a kid before we lost hound hunting but never had anything come back down the tree without an extra hole 😳 looks like a real rodeo! Fun hunt and good stuff guys!
You’re a stud! Too many guides out there knocking small cats and females out of the tree. I like how selective you are all of us real Houndsmen thank you! PS your Malory dog is bad ass, I’d kill for a pup out of her! Cameron Adams
Thank you! Mallory can't have any more pups. I'm gonna have a litter here soon that will be directly out mallory's dad and my female page. a friend of mine still has some more frozen sperm left from her dad. I will be splitting the letter with my friend Jon if there's enough of them maybe we can get you a pup.👍
Looks like the adrenaline got flowing a bit there. And Bradley's right, that's going to be a lot of good tasting meat. I hope Jason and family enjoy it. I got my cougar by chance about a decade ago while scouting for deer season. Thanks to the MeatEater crew I knew cougar is good eating and you can treat it like ultra-lean pork. It really does look and taste like pig.
Hahaha our buddies thought that would be funny to prank Dirk 😆 Maybe we should sell them? 😂😂😂 We ordered online from an add on Facebook. Can’t remember the website.
@@jasonphelps2843 about 3 years ago I had a nieghbor call telling me a cougar was going to kill my 2 week old calf. So I grambed the nearesy weapon I could find in about 5 secounds, ran to my back yard and saw a cougar getting ready to climb over my fence. After he climbed over the fence and started running at the calf I hit him 2 times in the ribs at about 120 yards away, then he turned on me. I hit him 20 times with a 223 as he was charging me. I got him to turn off me at about 25 yards away and he ran another 80 yards and climbed 2 more fences before expiring. He was # 5 I shot from my back yard. 150- 160 lb male.
