Aviation video @ Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth (KNFW/NFW)! Filmed on 3/5/22, this features my first time watching the 301st Fighter Wing's monthly Unit Training Assembly (UTA), more commonly known as "Drill Weekend". This is the afternoon sorties of the same day as the previous video, with some extra twists: a flight of two goes up with live bombs and the rest of the F-16 perform unrestricted departures! Also featured is local KC-130 from the local VMGR-234 "Rangers" with the Texas flag on the tail and a T-38 from Sheppard AFB practicing an approach. The President was scheduled to visit Dallas/Ft. Worth the following week and got lucky enough to see one of the Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King helicopters departing out of JRB!
The 301st Fighter Wing (301 FW) is an Air Reserve Component of the US Air Force. It is assigned to the Tenth Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, stationed at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. If mobilized, the Wing is gained by the Air Combat Command. The mission of the unit is to maintain a state of readiness to deploy people and their assigned fighter aircraft wherever needed when notified of recall to active duty. Wing people assigned to the 301st FW repeatedly demonstrate their flying expertise and professionalism in Air Combat Command, Air Force Reserve Command and NATO exercises designed to emphasize that to retain the country's combat ready posture it must train as it plans to fight.
