Foremost, I'd like to say that this video wouldn't be considered cinematic at all. It's dashcam footage. Instead of simply posting dashcam footage sped up without a sound, I tried to at the least put effort into the video by adding some emotion to the video with images and audio so there wouldn't just be silence only.
This supercell was intercepted near Manhattan, Kansas on June 11th, 2022.
After the storm started forming in Nebraska, it moved south where it put down a total of 4 tornadoes, all hidden in rain. This was my first experience with a plains supercell.

I live in park city, KS and I haven’t seen this beautiful of a storm sunset EVER, the hail clouds, sky, Mwa, perfect.

@@flimflop The best method for sights like that is traveling to the backside of these storm cells during sunset. If they’re not so large, you can even see the updrafts being backlit by sunlight.

I remember this distinctly, we went on top of tuttle dam after it had passed and watched the sunset. It was a beautiful afternoon.

I was living in an apartment near the football stadium when this came through. What was weird was how it came directly from the north, literally straight south. I stood on my deck talking with my neighbors when it hit. Stood there till I realized there was a tornado less than a mile away. The winds were so string they knocked over multiple trees onto the roads in town. Some of the coolest photos I have are of the wall cloud and how bright blue the clouds were in between it and the storm.

This was the first time I had seen a storm moving that due south produce tornadoes (although I didn’t see any of them). The southern movement can be explained by the directions of the upper altitude winds, the winds were moving out of the NW because they were traversing a large high pressure ridge in the South Western United States. Though I don’t quite understand the the due south movement, it probably latched itself to the ground and just took off South.

Super cell thunderstorms are mind blowing. I was born in the location of this video and grew up about 3 hours drive from this place. I have seen dozens of supercell storms and they are still just as amazing to this day. You can literally feel the energy in the atmosphere around one. Very pretty and sometimes terrifying. Have been caught in a few with no shelter, don’t recommend that.

Quite shocked it didn’t produce a super violent tornado! Because that was a prime supercell!
@JacobWithACamera
@JacobWithACamera Год назад
I have to agree, this cell produced 7 tornadoes from Nebraska to Kansas, and most of them were relatively weak except for an EF2. I feel like if the track was more easterly or north easterly, it would’ve produced something insane.

@@PeanutsAndSanrioFan I’d like to see a really photogenic stovepipe looking tornado, I got to see my first tornado this year in Iowa and it was awesome to see. Relatively weak, but it did take on a wedge shape for a moment, glad it didn’t track very far and caused little damage.

@@PeanutsAndSanrioFan I live in Missouri and while the state seems to get plenty of tornadoes from time to time, they’re usually hidden in rain and are very difficult to see, barely photogenic at all.

Pillsbury Drive or US 177. This storm did produce a couple tornadoes, I think it did cause some home damage in Manhattan and other places, I’m not so sure about injuries though.

That is the location of the WSR-88D Radar in Topeka, Kansas. The radar cannot scan anything close to its location because of the angle of its beam.
