This was a really great and informative comparison!! For me the OP wins, super clean, classic watch which you can dress up or down. I know some will say you can do the same with the Datejust, but the uncluttered dial and color of the blue on the OP pushes it over the top for me. Please keep up these informative videos. All the best

I had this exact DJ41 but i sold it after about 2 years. The DJ ist a very reflective watch especially in this configuration. The bezel and bracelet make it gleam in the light. I enjoyed that at first but after some time I realised that it wasn't really for me. I personally prefer the brushed look of the OP, it's less precious and more sporty and it attracts less attention.
@avarmauk
@avarmauk 2 года назад
I bought the same DJ on jubilee, loved it at first but just too bling for me. So I traded it in, topped up a some cash and got a Pepsi GMT. It wasn't a good deal really. But I just knew the DJ was a mistake and I had zero buyers remorse when I got the GMT. The GMT is quite bling too, but usually more to people who know what it is and I quite like that. I also love the brushed OP or even the Explorer 1 as the best everyday wear Rolex.
@MrJeronimo94
@MrJeronimo94 2 года назад
@@avarmauk Yes similar experience for me. When I got the DJ is was deciding between the DJ and the Reverso. The Reverso had always been my dream watch but at that time i thought of it as being too dainty, too dressy etc. and I kinda talk myself into buying the DJ because i thought it was more "robust", more sporty etc. ... well 2 years down the line i got rid of the DJ and got the Reverso Duoface that I should have gotten in the first place. I've never had any regrets buying that watch and since I have bought the Reverso I kinda don't have an interest in buying other watches because I just enjoy wearing it that much. I've worn it almost every day for the last 3 years. I've learned that you should buy what you truly want and not buy things that you tried to rationalize with your head. The GMT is a good buy too at that time (in 2017) they were already hard to get that is why i didn't venture into that territory but i think i'd have enjoyed it too!

The OP 41 wears more like a true 39mm as the Explorer 39mm wears and looks like a 41. Depending on the dial or bezel on the Date Just 41. Some variations look & wear bigger than others. I still prefer the classic 36mm size. It’s more elegant. The 41 is more for attention. The 41 Date Just can easily look tacky depending what you wear it with. The 36mm Date Just looks more versatile and just enough to be casual dressy and sporty.

But he just said he measures the extremity of the bezel, whereas the case protrudes slightly out from the bezel if you look straight down at the watch. It will likely still be less than 41 but more than the measurements cited.
@HafizJMehmood
@HafizJMehmood 3 года назад
The case below the bezel when measured exactly from the case is 41mm. As I quoted, I measured at the outer extremity of the bezel to explain the difference in sizes of faces of these two watches. The case slightly sticks out underneath the bezel, you can say roughly 1mm on each side of bezel (horizontally).

Hafiz, I have come to really enjoy your reviews, especially because you show the watch on your wrist and I have the same wrist size, so I can get an idea of how a particular watch will wear on my wrist. BUT... there were at least 6 ads in this 12 minute video and it was so annoying and distracting that I could not enjoy this one. I'm not sure if it's YOU TUBE that is racking these ads in, or of it's your choice for monetization (which I understand)...just thought I would let you know. Too many ads. Too distracting. Great content otherwise.

You made a mistake with regards to the fit from lug to lug. The DJ has a pivoted end link on the bracelet that allows that watch to where true to the lug to lug size. The OP does not have a pivoted end end link on the bracelet and flares out at the case (does not pull straight down from the case) This brings the true fit of 51.5 mm vs ~47 for the DJ. This makes huge difference when comparing fit.
@HafizJMehmood
@HafizJMehmood 3 года назад
Hi. Thanks for pointing but it’s actually not true. 51.5mm is the dimension measured from outside of the link/bracelet. That’s not the true dimension to demonstrate watch wearability i.e the bracelet on the inside of the links is what matters and in both OP and DJ the bracelet sticks straight down internally and don’t pivot out, so the span of wrist needs to be only 47mm-ish for both DJ and OP to fit snugly. P.S: if you subtract thickness of bracelet links on both sides/lugs from 51mm, your watch span (lug to lug) will come down to same as quoted in the video.
@cal.3861
@cal.3861 3 года назад
@@HafizJMehmood I understand what you are saying but wearability includes how the case and bracelet are integrated. If the jubilee pulls straight down from the case it is a true 47mm lug to lug. The oyster flares out from the case essentially increasing the lug to lug to the flared part of the end link. This is the one thing over looked all the time. Tim from the watch box is someone who always notes the "true fit" with regards to this issue. I enjoy your reviews but I know this first hand having both a DJ with jubilee and a GMT with an oyster.
@HafizJMehmood
@HafizJMehmood 3 года назад
@@cal.3861 Hi. Thanks for the support. I have watches many, many videos of Tim and Watxhbox too and I fully understand what you’re saying. But I can confirm that on Oyster bracelet either on OP, Sub or older GMTs, the centre link of bracelet although does flare out externally, on the underside, the bracelet tapers straight down. I’ve tripled checked it already and internally the oyster bracelet’s span with centre link included is NOT greater than the lug to lug width measured externally i.e. internally the bracelet still sticks straight down and doesn’t flare out of the lug to lug dimension. Again, how watch wears is determined by the dimensions measured on the underside of the bracelet and its minimum span. Tim @ Watxhbox quotes external dimensions of the bracelet measured at centre link, and it causes confusion because that’s not the minimum span. You have to subtract thickness of bracelet links on both sides to identify the true minimum span or minimum wear of the watch. I’ve spent a lot of time researching this and being owner myself before being a reviewer, I very well understand the concern and confusion. Hope this clarifies.
