I’ll be honest, I’m not one to watch hour-long videos of trains. But this video was absolutely amazing! As a model railroader, these up-close shots of the excursion cars show me how I should organize my trains when trying to replicate the prototype. Very helpful, and all-around gorgeous!
Excellent video Hunter! Enjoyed learning more of the big boys history and about the disposition of the original units. I also really enjoyed the older videos and especially seeing all the fallen flag railroads in the freight consists! Sure did enjoy chasing her over Donner!
I was lucky to see 4014 when he was in Boone, Iowa in July 2019 and I actually rode my bike down to Belle Plain, Iowa to see him there on July 30th, 2019 and see him take in more water. No steam locomotive had stopped there since about 1950. I've even heard that 4014's gonna go through there again in the coming days so I'll be going there to do it again. Old Highway 30 parallels the old Chicago & North Western Railroad's mainline from there to Cedar Rapids most of the way there so I may try to chase it there.
Aye Bro You and Hunter are Legends for this Video on the Big Boy And Other Union Pacific Steam but I can't say it enough but this is very Awesome I'm going to see 4014 this fall🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃Appreciate you Man🙏🏾✊🏾💯
@DynamoProductions-trains did you read my last comment? It says that I heard that Big Boy is coming to Ft. Worth, TX this October soon, and I'm gonna go see it in person, but I'm sensitive to loud noises, like the whistle on Union Pacific 844 when I went to see it depart from Ft. Worth on an October morning in 2012. Even though I'm afraid of loud noises, even booming train whistles, that's not gonna stop me from seeing Big Boy 4014 when it comes to Ft. Worth, Because last time we went back in August 2021, There was a rainstorm coming in, and do do all the lightning, the UP crews were forced to close down early, I never even got to explore the Union Pacific museum car which was pretty much a bummer to me. But the other thing that I can't stop thinking about is that Big Boy 4014 is pulling a freight train insted of the usual passenger train consist, They're doing it again out of Cheyenne on the Heartland of America tour just starting recently, I hope they change freight to passenger consist soon. Because I want to explore the Union Pacific exhibit car when Big Boy comes to Ft. Worth, if they choose not to, then It's another bummer. Do you have any of the slightest clues on when they're gonna be switching consists? Also, why does Big Boy always have to pull freight on an excursion or tour? Shouldn't It be pulling. A fine long passenger train consisting of business cars like Union Pacific 844 and 3985 pull on excursions?
@DynamoProductions-trains, Why do they blow the whistle on Big Boy 4014 during the display in Roseville? I thought when steam locomotives are on display, they're not supposed to be under steam. Are they? Correct me if I'm wrong.
