Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is the major hub for Ethiopian Airlines, one of the largest airports in Africa, and the main international gateway for the nation. The ultra-modern airport terminal was inaugurated on January 21, 2003. The second phase of terminal expansion work was also completed and inaugurated on January 28, 2019.
This spacious terminal handles all international flights with its 21st-century facilities, which are designed to speed up your departure and arrival. Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Africa with a capacity of providing a world class Services for More than 22 million international and 2 million domestic passengers per year.
The Airport terminal had arrival and departure halls for international and domestic passengers, a VIP salon with new and dedicated building, an airport security office, and several offices and desks for different airlines and airways. There were immigration offices, an airport customs office and counter, self-check in kiosks for passengers, baggage drop-off counters, banks, duty-free shops, and other types of shops like jewelry, cultural clothes, and souvenirs. There were pharmacies, emergency clinics, hotel booths, telecom services, a tourist information center, international brand bars and restaurants, free Wi-Fi services, and airport information desks.
Terminal II of the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is dedicated to rendering service for international flights, while Terminal I (currently refurbished and expanded) serve all domestic flights.
Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (IATA: ADD, ICAO: HAAB) is an international airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is in the Bole district, 6 km (3.7 mi) southeast of the city centre and 65 km (40 mi) north of Bishoftu. The airport was formerly known as Haile Selassie I International Airport.[2] It is the main hub of Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline that serves destinations in Ethiopia and throughout the African continent, as well as nonstop service to Asia, Europe, North America and South America. The airport is also the base of the Ethiopian Aviation Academy.[3] As of June 2018, nearly 380 flights per day were departing from and arriving at the airport.[4]

that airport is so uninviting. who built it, clearly hates people. 😒 it looks like a place you store wheat in for the winter. That roof design is tragic. I do not know why architecture firms keep design these concrete monstrosity knowing how human hate it and it is depressing to see that much hard concrete. for a place name Addis Abada - lined with flowers + garden 💮 🌼 🌷🌸 🌺 🌻 .Singapore changi airport gets it. why create more mental stress at an airport.

I agree with your comment . The roofing and the enormous metal structure gives more of a picture of a huge store than a modern airport terminal. No colors , no glass panes , no flowers or islands of human visual attraction and poor sunlight illumination.
