Stupid question- I have an 04 SSS and looking to do the same swap. Why not use the 2008 up awd transfer case from a 6l80e? The spline count is the same and it should slip right on. I just haven't found a transfer case yet to try it with. Love the videos!!

I didn't see that input shaft on mark Williams website. Do you just call him up and say that's what I need or is there a part number. Also what's the cost?

snap on makes some nice transmission snap ring pliers that work good on them snap rings in the t case. SRP2B is the part number.

Man aint you a OG on performancetrucks.net? Cant remember what ya sn was tho. The pliers for those snap rings are "Tip lock pliers". Just got a few different kinds this year since i started doing all my transmissions. Must have tool for sure. Your uncertainty when doing shit is totally relatable. The first time i had my car on the brake at 4200 rpms and 12lbs of boost on the gauge... i about shit myself that the transmission DIDNT come apart XD Rock on man

Phantom if ur using the newer snap on flank drive metric wrenches then that’s why U couldn’t find a size that fit I have the same problem all the time they fit everything loose af I hate em and they cost a shit load I been trying to trade someone for an older set

I have an 02 sierra denali with the 6.0 and awd and I've been told by everyone that only the 4l65 from factory would work with the transfer case but im glad to stumble across this video

I’ve been waiting for Shawn to get it going again since the first time I saw after the show began and I started a social media account so I could try to stay up to date with what Shawn and Chief were doing. Those trans to coolant heat exchangers are a lot more efficient to cool that trans when you’re pulling

Now that you got the 4l80 are you planing any power adders for the SS? I always thought those trucks should of came with an Lsa blower on the 6.0 or 6.2 liter. They got the look just noting special in the engine department.

Great video! I’ve been wondering who’s ss was at the shop in the videos. Just swapped stock electric fans into my SS and used HP tuners for the first time! Looking forward to the cam swap!

I have a 2003 Chevy SS and ABSOLUTELY Love mine. It has original 36k miles on the truck, when it was bought new, it had a Blueprinted C5R - 427 swapped out on it. I just took off the Brand New 24” wheels and tires that previous original owner had put on, and put on Brand New 20” Weld Gauntlet wheels and did a 1-2 drop on it. Truck is ABSOLUTELY SICK… Love yours

That’s how you learn man , for not being a mechanik you did a damn good job and I approve this message , all good mechanics are usually self taught or been around it for a good amount of time usually booked train guys don’t know there ass from a hole in the ground . for 4x4 80e swaps, there are gm $100 32 spline input shafts for use on 4x4 transfer cases.

Get you a Black Widow muffler... I started w/a Corza exhaust the muffler blew apart, Flowmaster was to much drone! Had the Black Widow installed and freaking love it...

For rounded off bolts you can get bolt extractors that will dig into the head as you loosen it.

If you're running an aftermarket converter, run the stock style dished flexplate with no spacer an let the converter builder know.

Kroil Penetrant does the trick. Expensive but worth it.

My truck has the same exhaust setup. But it stops at the flowmaster and dumps straight down.

Good call on cooler, exact scenario happened to me with Ford Lightning. New rad and trans result of failure.

Torch and or induction heater plus candle wax helps loosen it up and on the neutral safety switch heat the outside with a mini torch they come right apart.

Mini ductor for the win on the manifold bolts. Best tool I have ever purchased.

The torque converter bolts are a 15mm. Semi-deep on a ball socket works like a champ! Removing the starter gives you a better angle to them bolts.

Same on the saws all kinda irritates the feelers. 😆 Would anti sieze work on the bolts if it was used when putting that deal together? Got it shifting alot quicker than factory! Thanks for the video.
