Tipu sultan was the ruler of an Indian state of Mysore in 18th century. He was called Tiger of Mysore due to his bravery. Tipu was the only ruler who was aware of British plan to occupy the subcontinent. He tried to united the Indian nawabs and rajas but east India company played well politics and made alliance with nizam Haider bad. Tipu and his father Haider Ali fought 2 wars against east India company and after his father’s death, tipu became the ruler of Mysore and he fought 2 more wars with British. The fourth war of Mysore was the final one. This war was started in 1798 and ended on 4th may 1799 with the demise of Tipu Sultan. British were succeeded in this war only because of traitors. They bought the loyalties of tipu’s minister and advisors, who led the British army into the fort. In the noon of 4th may when Tipu came to know that British had broken into the fort and his most loyal commander Syed Abdul Ghaffar had been martyred, Tipu decided to fight like a brave man and embraced martyrdom.
