Does it have to have the diagram to the left of the knob to have the locker? Are there any cases where the truck is equipped with a factory locker without having the diagram?
4A is not just for wet or slippery. It will disengage 4wd when turning sharply to prevent binding. Use it any time. This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I loved 4auto when stopping and going in town with snow and ice on the road. Pops in 4wd on it’s own taking off from a stop sign and goes back to 2wd after you get going and no longer need it.
I did not know about pulling out the knob to lock in the posi. Does that also work on a 16, I have a 16 platinum. I suppose instead of asking this question I should just get off my ass and go try it but it’s 12:30 in the morning. LOL
You forgot to cover 4wd boosted launches at the track. Engage 4 wheel drive high, engage Locker, stage truck, with one foot on the brake, rev truck to max stall speed 2800ish. On green send it!
this model has no locker not even limited slip it is called an open differential, the way to tell is by looking at the 4wd button if it has the picture of the diff lock on the left side or not. This specific model does not.
Locking the rear diff applies power 50 50 between rear wheels. It’s “locked”. It doesn’t ever cut power to one side. You really don’t know what you’re talking about do you? Sorry man.
I think he was saying when rear diff lock is not on that only one wheel spins when slipping, but if you lock the diff it will apply power 50/50 as you mentioned to both wheels. At least that's how I took it.
You don’t need 4A for rain. You guys just over react about it “oh it’s wet on the ground might as well put in 4A because it’s a slippery as ice”. No you guys think there’s not enough traction in 2H. And what difference is really going to make if your driving in 2H your still going to be able to Go
Of course you don't need 4A for rain, but this is Houston. So when we're explaining the practicality of 4 wheel drive to our customers, rain is the only reason you MIGHT need it.
@@LegacyFordOfRosenberg LOL. So true. I'm in Houston and just bought a 4x4 F150. I'm just looking for mud to get into. Haha. I love Houston, but lord save us, Houstonians can't drive in the rain. I've seen so many accidents with moderate raining; 4x4 can't fix poor driving. :) Great video. Short and to the point.
