#befaco #PonyVCO
I recently swapped out my Doepfer A144 quad VCO for 4 units of the new Befaco PONY VCO.
These oscillators pair so well with the DEGREE. You can get so many different timbres out of them. You get the standard warm analog wave shapes, but with the on-board wavefolder you can quickly transition into more metalic timbres.
The patch I have going on here is fairly simple. Each channel of the DEGREE controls its own PONY VCO, which then gets routed into the Befaco Percall VCA/Envelope module. The envelopes get triggered by the DEGREE gate outputs. From there, I split 2 VCOs into the Jove filter and 2 VCOs into the Humpback filter.
The percussion sounds are very simple (and could use an improvement down the road). The hats are white noise going through a LPG with a modulated envelope via the Befaco Rampage. The kick comes from the vanilla Befaco Kickall module. The white noise riser thing in the middle is just brown noise through another LPG (but I send a ton of that signal into the 2HP verb so it engulfs the spectrum).
Oh and the opening riff is totally a knockoff of "Sleeping Lessons" by The Shins. Great riff 👌
